When are they going to fix the fact opfor can see bomb radius and detonation time lines? Obviously this is a bug right? Who would be stupid enough to cross a big red line? This bug has been in the game the entire time I've played, and I still haven't seen a fix. I had to log onto these forums just to make a statement about something no one seems to notice. It makes no sense for anyone other than yourself to see your radius lines, and it makes even less sense to let them see det time. As it is, it's stall time. Opposition sees a circle on the ground, derp, just stand outside of it. They don't even have to look at what bomb it is or watch you spend all that time charging it, they can just look at the line and move. No other weapon is this avoidable. A big, don't walk here for derp seconds flag on the ground. This isn't exclusive to PvP, even in PvE it's not necessary for co-ops to see your lines, as it clutters their view (your bomb is already doing enough of that.) If you want to argue that seeing a friendly bombers bomb's det time can help you judge when to attack an enemy, sure I understand that, it is a valid argument for lines in coop. But it just seems to take all the competition out of using an entire weapon set.

On the flip side, all weapons should get balanced with range lines, eg. polarii and brandishes having cones of damage painted on the ground, then they will be just as easy to avoid. /sarcasm

tl:dr Having a bomb in hand, charging it over you head, and placing it on the ground should be the only thing opposition should see. Just like any other weapon. #removethelines

We see this in the suggestions forum every now and then. You should either move this topic there or the bug report, depending on which you find applicable.

The bomb circles weren't always around, I thought it was pretty cool when it was added. (Which I think was before Lockdown?)

Favorable? Probably not. Intended? Yes.

The radius lines of the bombs have always been around. The opaque fill effect was added later.
These effects were also purposely changed to appear red when on opposing teams in Lockdown.

I support!

As a matter of fact, it's more of a problem in T3, where the AoE is HUGE. In that you have this GIANT circle thing. Keep in mind that shard bombs don't have this giant circle, so if you want to throw it a bone, go ahead. In T2, the AoE is smaller so it doesn't stick out as much.

Still, I hope they remove the enemy bomb AoE pointer. I mean, imagine this:

You are a recon. You uncloak and drop a bomb in a second flat. All the enemies in the area WILL see where not to go. I want my bombs to give them a surprise, not a flag! (Everyone loves surprises! --Heavy Shard Bomb)

Tier 3 gremlin bombers in an arena+remove bomb radius+remove All weapons but slow swords (remove charge attacks too)+put back smart AI. Survive 3....2....1 GO!!!.

See how stupid this sounds?

I agree with your points but since you're putting hashtags on a forum, I won't support it, since it shows you're probably [mentally challenged]...
I also need to ask, Are you autistic? Swords don't need a line/rad marker because you can OBVIOUSLY see which direction they're pointing at.. SAME for guns. BOMBS, on the other hand, hit in ALL DIRECTIONS for a certain radius. The lines MARK THE RADIUS.
You're comparing an apple with the head of an autistic child (you).
Bombs NEED the rad markers, or else there would be RANDOM explosions popping up (ahem, recons in PvP)
However, I do want the devs/gm's to remove the timer, to make it more fair for the bombers in PvP.

Swords can't hit people from below the screen. the brandish charge, perhaps, but if you have sound on, you'd probably hear the person charging.
guns on the other hand, thats what they're MEANT for! sniping people, stalling and creating status effects.
that just fell into the sniping category..
did you not get my point anyways? This man wants there to be invisible bombs, visible to nobody, not even himself.
the problem with that is that you can't see the bomb. they aren't completely obvious like sword and guns where you can see clearly where the opponent is pointing it at. However I do want to give bombbers a bigger advantage, and I'd like the timer to be removed, but the rad marker has to stay.

@Redblades, Nobody is asking for invisible bombs, the actuall bomb in the center of the screen will still be there and they would be completely obvious. How many Nitronomes do you see laying on the ground in FSC?

You can't see the bomb that sits there for a couple seconds after the bomber has to charge it for even more time? Sure, you can see where a swordsman is pointing, but he could easily turn around, change weapons, attack, change back, and turn around again, in less time than the fuse of a bomb. The same goes for guns. Unless you completely removed all signs of a bomb, they will always be more visible than swords and guns.

Swords can't hit people from below the screen, except for these swords

People are asking for laser sighting on LD. This could be it. All drivers charged can hit from far away, so does Brandishes, DA, GF, Flourishes and probably other swords I don't use.

The bombs radius should be taken out. Only the bomber should be able to see it...

And I don't play with sounds on SK, I have music instead... We don't play the way you do.

Instead of the bomb lines being red, why not make them be white? In a large battle with bombers on both sides, one team will think the bomb lines are from their team and get hit by it anyway! It works!

Neat.

@Burntsouls
There is nothing to reply to, twitter and autism are both off-topic, inflammatory derailment. This was my first thread on the sk forums, and its given me a good idea of the depth of discussion that happens here.

Opfor should not see bomb lines. Period. Its impossible to sneak up behind someone, charge a bomb, plant it on the ground, wait for it to detonate all the while your victim is oblivious to all those actions. It doesn't happen. With a line on the ground, you are telling them, hey you better move for second, I'm trying to hurt you, just move over there and you will be safe, oh once it blows up go ahead and attack me, ill just be charging another bomb, oh but dont worry you will see a big red line so you can avoid it again. Remember, It takes less time to charge swords and guns and do damage, as there is no 'detonation' delay. Yet none of these weapons have warning lines painted on the ground. Make the bombs glow or pulse when placed on the ground if they are hard to see, but remove the lines.

Bombs were made for a DIFFERENT purpose. They're for damage to a large area, and spreading statuses.
I agree that people will see the timer and time their strikes, that's why I said that they should REMOVE THE TIMERS. NOT the rad markers.

Ok Redblades, now your just on my bad side now.

Being autistic is nothing to laugh about, and neither is being a retard. My brother is autistic, and I can tell you from first hand experience how hard he finds socialisation. The autism spectrum is a wide and diverse thing which you're just slapping on someone insultingly like a name tag. I honestly doubt you actually even know what it means, and you're just calling people it every other hour.

Now, get out and stay out of the forums before you learn some manners and basic etiquette.

jokes aside, grow up...
I could hardly care about your brother. sound heartless, but I bet none of you care about every single mentally challenged, disabled, starving person you ever hear about. you can't care about everyone.

You're offended about me calling people autistic.
I'm offended by YOU telling me to get out of the forums because my best friend was excluded from everything, and bullied as a child. He suicided at the young age of 12.
I could go ON AND ON AND ON about things, but honestly, nobody really cares.

ANYWAYS, your brother being autistic isn't actually a big deal. most people of our generation (perhaps including myself) are all completely [jacked] in the head anyways. Some autistic people I have met are actually smarter than the teens I see today. true story.

Now excuse me while I cry in a corner because your brother (whom I don't know) has autism, because I'm a "caring" human being.

If you can't see the red marker, why are you objecting to it being removed? Yeah bombs need a marker, but honestly, an outline of it's max range and the bomb being seen in the middle is enough. Atleast make it white so it doesn't scream: "You will take damage here in 3 2 1"

And honestly, anyone who plays with a mouse can very easily and quickly change their direction entirely.

I never met ONE bomber, not a SINGLE one that could beat me even back when RSS wasn't changed.
I'm just saying that bombs, taking a TINY space on the screen would be REALLY annoying.
Bombs are made for spreading damage out on an area, or spreading statuses in an area.
If you walk up to somebody and throw a bomb down, you're going to be dead. Bombs are not made to be front line weapons. End of story.

Lets give an example
Guns can reach very far, swords cannot.
Lets say I don't carry a gun around with me (I usually carry 3) and I'm a pure sword user.
I'm going to complain about not being able to reach a certain monster, or hit a certain person because they're too far away!!
REMOVE ALL GUNS AND BOMBS FROM THE GAME

Yknow what:

I can get behind this.

Most grenadiers and other demo-oriented people on a squad disguise their bombs. For them to be effective, enemy unawareness is key.

The longer an enemy is unaware of a bomb, the better for them.

I say let's give it a shot. Let's make strikers watch where they dash more closely/give recons some scare factor more than what they already have. Let's just hope the bombers know the ranges of their own bombs and don't complain about bombs -missing- if this happens.
