Hey guys! Styrka here.
So, as the title suggests, I am curious as to what the strongest of shields is. Now, of course, strong is a relative term, because there are different attacks to block. In terms of just raw longevity, however, what is the best shield? A super buff shield is important for Bombers, I find, as I am often dropping irontech bombs and then shield immediately as to not get gnawed upon by those pesky slag walkers.
Anyhoo, I figure that the tankiest shield might be the Ancient Plate Shield, the Volcanic Plate Shield or the Omega Shell. Please let me know your experience with shields so I can figure out which one would work best for me when I'm bombing away happily rather than zipping about with my magnus and swiftstrike buckler.

Plate Shields are generally best at tanking, due to their high normal defence and large amounts of health.
Ancient Plate is basically a worse version of Volcanic. They are identical except for a) the fact that Ancient lacks Volcanic's fire resistance and b) Ancient can only be obtained with Almirian Seals. Omega Shell has mediocre normal defence, but an awful lot of health. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out as well in practice as it does on paper, due to the lack of status resistances.
Other than that I can only really say that it would depend on what you're fighting... but of the three you'd mentioned, I would rather have the VPS than either of the other two shields.
