It is possible, buy a key with four knights (450 CE from each) and after the opening go to solo? :)

It's called closing your SK. Doesn't matter if they can't be removed/leave. A closed SK game means you aren't there.

What you need to is once the Shadow Lair is opened DISABLE wifi connection.

Even if that part is true, you have to do the whole SL first.
I wanted to do the exact same thing. Unfortunately you can not. As soon as the gate is opened the party becomes not only restricted but uber restricted. No one can join you but the bonus is no one can leave either. Also you can not kick players from the party either until the shadow lair is done(you reach the core).
