1 bar? (Damage)

Remember how those bars get knocked out of you when you get hit? For some reason, when I wear my Dragon Scale Mail and Drake Scale Helm in Depth One, I always only see red bar. Yet, when I'm blown up by a Blast Cube, I sometimes lose a whole pip of HP. (A rectangle at the bottom of the screen = pip) Does this mean that those red bars actually mean how much damage is resisted?
(I'm doing this for various reasons which I'll say in the future.)

I also don't understand what you're saying. Depending on what your project is, it might be helpful to know that previous studies (e.g. here) have concluded that one pip is 40 points.

In Tier 1, everything does only Normal damage.
In Tier 2, split normal/specialized, I believe equally (or, for some monsters, just Normal).
In Tier 3, it's either pure specialized or more specialized than normal (or, for some monsters, just Normal).
Normal damage sources include Blast Cube's tackles, wheel machines, Gremlin Thwackers, Trojan's smashes, and maybe some others which I might have missed out. Also, the 'primary' attacks of all bosses seem to do (or at least telegraph) pure Normal as well - can this be verified?
Bars show the amount of damage (per type) you take.
In the future please read the Wiki.

@Raisinfist
I do understand. What I'm saying is that there is ALWAYS 1 bar coming out of me, weather it be a blast cube blast, a kat bite, etc. I'm not surprised that everything is normal, that's why I'm taking the Drake Scale line gear. I'm trying to see how much damage each monster does.
What confuses me is that a blast cube causes one bar to come out even though I've lost a whole pip of HP.
@Klipik
I am aware of that. (No, not to be a smarty-pants...I'm just saying I did my research.)
@Bopp
Now that I didn't know. I'll read that thread.

Correction:
In tier 1, monsters do pure normal
In tier 2, monsters damage is seperated into two halves, one half is completely normal, and the other half is half the damage they would regularly do.
In tier 3, monsters do full damage of what they'd regularly do.
Ranged attacks from monsters usually deal pure specialised damage, while melee attacks deal half normal, half specialised, with a few exceptions.
Since Wheel Launchers and Shufflebots aren't aligned to an element, their specialised damage is normal.

It would help if you didn't use the word "normally" so much while talking about non-normal damage. How about "regularly"?
I'm not sure I understand this, but would it help to know that one bar on the floor = 1/4 of a pip?
