Heyyyy. So I'm looking for books to read. Upon thinking, I decided to create a thread based solely on books. There are a ton of books out there, and I know I missed a few good ones for reading. I've read all the "famous" series, like The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etc. If you have a book series that you really like, feel free to post it here!
Just tell this information:

Book Title:
Book type: (Historical fiction, fantasy, etc)

So many good books!

@Korack - Yeah I agree, the last two books were awesome. Eldest was pretty slow. I wanna read them again now!

@Shotjeer - OMG I was obsessed with those books when I was younger years ago!!! Didn't make it through the fourth series though....it got weird lol.
I'm an original-series books 1-6 purist. Nothing after ever compared to those.

Shotjeer, Warriors was pretty good when I was younger. Read Immortous' post though, the last segment with Jawpaw, Hollypaw, etc. got kinda wierd for me.
Knight-Of-Vanaduke, Both books were pheonominal. I loved them and can't wait for the final book in August! They kind of left you hanging with that last sentence in Insurgent, am I right?

I finished the 4th series, waiting for Dawn of the Clans to come out. Apparantly, it's a totally new storyline, a time before all of this happened(Early days of the Clans). I'm not too happy about that, but imma still read it.

@Immortous

Hard to explain.
When Tigerstar died, his spirit flew up into the PoNS(Place of No Stars), where all the evil cats go. Cats like Hawkfrost, Thistleclaw, Darkstripe, etc. In the 4th series, the PoNS spirits found a way to make contact with the real world, and there was a large battle. Sadly, lots of the good cats died, such as Hollyleaf(Hollypaw), Ferncloud,Firestar, and Mousefur. Bramablestar is now leader of ThunderClan, and the Clans live happily ever after
THE END.
Now the 5th series is coming out, with absolutely no relationship with the previos 4 series.

I don't think I could pick a favorite book. It would be like trying to pick a favorite song, flower, or wine. It's just another one of those sweet gifts in life like strawberries, butterflies and fog filled summer nights.

If anything Stephan King's "Fire Starter" comes to mind as an all time favorite. Of more recently read books I'd say Either "Hunting Fear" by Kay Hooper or "Dancing in the Dark" by Mary Jane Clark. Currently I'm reading a series called "The D.D. Warren Series" by Lisa Gardner. I've seen it listed as suspense, mystery and horror. It's a story that follows the tales of a detective.

Book: A Wind in the Door
Genre: Science Fiction

A Wind in the Door isn't exactly a sequel; but rather another story using the same characters. I recommend reading both.

Lol people.

Fiction is a book with a story made up by the author.

Nonfiction is a book about actual facts, like a biography, or a physics textbook.

Fantasy, mystery, thriller, etc, do not belong in the same category as those two ^.

Did that help?

Woah, haven't checked this

Woah, haven't checked this thread for awhile, time to comment!

@Immortous and Shotjeer
Now I'm confused ;_; I'm just going to try and follow to next series, Survivors, as close as possible. Probably will be hard, yet again.
By the way, so Firestar died? That stinks. Doesn't sound good at all. Hopefully Survivors won't end the same way.

@Hero-Of-Cheese
Percy Jackson and Kane series were both epic, but The Lost Hero didn't really catch me. Rick Riordan is a really good author for sure :)

@Progin-Oskes
I read A Wrinkle in Time, and that was good, but I haven't read A Wind in the Door yet.

@Iamnoone
Your picks sound good. I haven't read any of them yet, so I'll probably try them in a few weeks ;D

@Sonicmiles
I have read the first book, is there a second? If so, never heard of it. The first one was average, it wasn't really one of those books that I have loved since I was a kid.

That's all I have to say. Great picks everyone, hopefully I can see more soon!

Ooo, a bookwriter among us! Not bad.

Haven't read a proper book in a while now though. Got a big stack of H.P. Lovecraft that is just waiting for me to dig in, but I haven't been in reading mode for a long time.

Book title: John Dies At The End
Book genre: Horror, comedy novel
Author: David Wong

A very... Uh... Special book. Probably my favourite, not sure. This book has caused me to have some really good "WHAT A TWIST"-moments and "mind = blown"-feelings, and it was awesome.

But seriously, this book really had me wondering what the author was on while writing. You know those long, strange posts Luguiru writes that makes no sense? Yeah, it's almost like that at times. It'll just make you think: "Oh, the main character just bought a bratwurst and is now talking with his dead friend through it as if it was a cellphone to 'the other side', no worries, nothing to see here, all is well. Yup, probably didn't need the ketchup and mustard on that."

"OOoh, a book like Lug's posts? May try it :3" -Korakc

It's not like that through the entire book of course, things are understandable / makes sense, but many things will seem weird when you first read it, and it will surely come back and smack you in the face later in the book (read: mind = blown / WHAT A TWIST-moments).

All in all, it's not like... An *AMAZING* piece of extremely well-written literature, but I really love it for its hilarious moments and especially its completely unique weirdness. I can truly say I've never read anything like it, and it was definitively worth the read. I'll probably end up reading it again, sometime in the future.
