Must... pet... BUNNIES!!!!!!!!
~Newg
i'm so inattentive =_=
Live long and prosper, little cute.
They look like Spookats with fur over them and a short tail. Are they original Kat survivors? That would be interesting... I just hope it isn't yet another event monster.
I think I know ths answer, let me explain:
1: Go to the wikipage
2: Search for the monster type: Cat
3: Scroll down and somewhere between the pic. of the black kat and Margell you'll see the name: Cattywampus (not kidding)
What I am trying to say is that there is no pic. of the Cattywampus. The exact same thing was with the Black Kat until they released it.
It may be a Cattywampus
@Demete: Considering they are called 'dust bunnies' and not 'cattywampus'.....
How do they look anything like a spookat? Also, I really don't think they will be an Easter event. There might, MIGHT be an event showcasing them, but I am almost positive they aren't an event enemy. I'm more inclined to believe that they are simply a new enemy, hopefully that of the beast family. Beast's really do need an unnerfed addition to their family.
~Magnicth
It's not a cattywampus, as that would make no sense. It's not even a pun. Also, where did the cattuwampus part come from? Who posted it?
@Dmatter, I posted about the Cattywampus.
@Magnicth, I meant to say that if it supposed to be a cat-like monster-type then it would probably a cattywampus, sorry for being so unclear.
PS: I didn't know that it actually is named "dust bunny" , thought you guys made it up.
Hmm maybe it is for Easter. That would be nice.
I meant for the wiki >_< oh well. Wait... what about spring cleaning? Couldn't they be for that? (that would be kinda humorous. I don't like Bony things.) And while it's probably beast, it could also be fiend by how they look. If it's an event, it probably won't be like black kats, as these seem like they would be much more numerous. I can't see these not being fast, so they probably will. They have no eyes, wonder if that will mean anything. Probably lots of biting will be done. If beast, I hope that wolvers will get a buff too. They need more than one attack. or at least for said attack to be better. I wonder what the plot will be.
Please let them have sleep effects!!!
I could actually go take a good nap.
Bye!
Yours sleepily,
Vanillateddy.
Based on this, the dust bunnies are going to be an upcoming event. And judging from the photo, they're going to attack in swarms. From Black Kats to bunnies. What's next? Summer Sun boss battle? ... I'm in.
So OOO is making new contents based on Japanese anime?
Pokemon is coming and now, Totoro's Makkurokurosuke?
They multiply? That's what makkurokurosuke is, c'mon where's originality?
If these things multiply then it's time to get the big guns, and by guns I mean the bombs. Kill 5 fuzz balls with one stone.
I guess the new status they will give is "allergy". Where's my vacuum?
Heh should hear what the event/update is in a few more days if what Zeddy said is right, which it probably is. How exciting :O!
Some people in my guild said it was this Wednesday but it didn't come. So hopefully and probably it's next Wednesday!
The pic was uploaded on 6th of may so it should come in 2 weeks which is next week...just...hopefully...
Well, the black kat's update came about 2 weeks later they uploaded the pic on facebook so dust bunny should too!

Just gonna leave this here...
Well, they could be quite ferocious really because let's say, in 5 seconds they split into 2 and while you're off beating dat annoying mender they'll eventually swarm you, basically the opposite of lichens.
Y'know, until it's released it IS just speculation, but I have a feeling that could be quite close t'the mark!
These are fiends!
Well, they do shadow damage, and don't look anything like a necromancer's work, so....
Drat...my only piercing weapon is a Callahan, and I have no shadow resistance whatsoever.
/sad
Actually, if you look at all the pictures they do shadow in some of them and piercing in others. What is this sorcery?
Thanks for pointing that out. Now I don't feel so worried that I'll be taking 100% damage from this event the same way as it was in the Kataclyzm.
My guess is that shock do shadow damage, poison do piercing, fire does elemental, and ice does normal. Maybe? :P
So they got new pics of these guys up but didn't add them to the consumer model of the game which means spiral spy users like myself can't mess around with the finished buggers. You win this one OOO.
It looks like dust buns can have one of each of the three damage types. Because of this, I'm not sure if they are going to be in the beast family. They could be beast type but a unique kind with one of the three damage type.
I'm expecting some people are going to hate these things because they will become overpowering when those things multiply too much, crowding everywhere around the knight. Bombers might have the easiest time against these little critters because of wide range attacks, although it's just my theory.

Yay for bombs! This is one case where shard bombs might actually be helpful.
@ Hatbot
It's kinda obvious when people post on the forum that they are using Spiral Spy...

They put something in...
You find it and tell on the forum...

I think they pretty much know what Spiral Spy can show and cannot show at this point, thanks to people like you. And it feels great knowing that. It put a smile on my face :D
theres another secret. other than dust bunnies.
So... Fluffy bunny slippers with mouth Zerg rushing us?
Let me fetch my DBB, brb.
Well if your pictures are correct... Then either they DO split OR they spawn in huge numbers.

:O
Cloning powers ACTIVATE!
Purely speculation. I think these bunnies would swam you with numbers and would multiply if you leave even one alive.
Meaning you need AoE (bombs) or a lot of burst firepower (e.g. Blitz), so you can kill them within relatively the same time frame.
This will give bombers a different role to play.Seems good so far.But let's not get too hyped up.Now where did I put my bombs?Oh wait, I sold them away at a yard sale. That might be a problem...
If my guess is right, bombs would be the natural weapon against these bunnies.
What I want to know is, if volleys of charged Blitz or Brandishes would do just fine (if not better).
According to these preview screenshots, Dust Bunnies apparently can bite with a piercing attack just like a Wolver can. And they have some sort of shadow attack, which may be different from the bite. Perhaps that might be the spliting ability, or maybe its a particle spitting attack. We also know from the screenshots that there are Default, Freeze, and Poison variants. I had some ideas of what these names may be:
Default: Dust Bunny.
Freeze: Frost Bunny.
Poison: Plague Bunny.
If you also notice, there habitat is that of a mechanical-plain like combination, with the Bush's roots being more metallic, and that there are gremlins in these levels. Maybe they were created by Gremlins?

From looking at the pics there are at least 3 versions: blue ears, green ears, and yellow/orange ears. Going by the attack lines coming out of them the blue ears do Shadow attacks, the yellow/orange do Piercing, and the green ears don't show but odds are they do Elemental damage.
~Gwen
I don't think that's the case. To me, these are a few of the variants of the Dust Bunny we will see, such as the regular Dust Bunny, the Blue Dust Bunnies being the Freeze Variant, and the Green Dust Bunnies are the Poison Variant. To me, they will each have a bite that does piercing damage. There attack with shadow damage may just be spliting, or possible particle spitting, as I mentioned before.
Adorable, cute, little, fluffy, bunnies. So squeezable...
Kill them. I do not want any in m office.
