As far as i've understood, you get 1 token from bosses(in this case i'm talking about Frumious Fang from Snarbolax "Shadow of the Beast" run) depending on how many levels your were part of, up to and including the boss battle itself.

In this case, you should get a total of 3 Frumious Fangs from a solo-snarbolax-run.
I did 2 runs today(intend to do another later today as it seems to be the most crowns-rewarding for me currently, if anyone have got a tip of earning crowns faster i'm listening)

First run: 3 Tokens, nothing weird
Second Run: 4 tokens, why? Did i missunderstand something about the token system? If i did not, where did the fourth token come from?

Also, i am very sorry if a post about this already exists and has already been explained, but alas i am too lazy to search the forum...

Fairly certain that 4 token drops happen when you have no deaths or something throughout the run

maybe, but I don't think so

I almost never die on any boss runs, and I rarely get 4 tokens. As far as I can tell, it's just a random bonus.

Third run just now, got 4

Third run just now, got 4 Frumious Fangs again.

If it isn't a random bonus, then i can only guess that if you take less than a certain amount during the whole run, you get that fourth one as reward...
During the whole run, i only lost 2 healthbars, so i suppose it's either random, or that...

It happens anytime. You could join at the last minute and instead of 1 get 2. Or skip part of the first level and still get 3 instead of 2.

It honestly seems you can win 1 extra token randomly without meeting any special condition.

You can get a set amount

The garanteed amount is 3 for a solo run i have triggered a few 4 by doing as follows
Optional but prefered: collect three health caps three curse three poison and three shock from drops
Required: you must not take any damage or use any thing in the hot bar or miss a single set of 5 continueous hits with a sword per stunning the snarbolax
This cause it for me.

The conditions won't be like that. It's likely random for snarbolax.

There is right and wrong on randomness, but, you only get up 1-4 ONLY gems in game. 4 is mostly rare to find. 3-1 is common.

In shadow lair, you can get 5

In shadow lair, you can get 5 - 8, but it's mostly 7. I highly doubt that anybody would get 5 because once a Shadow lair key activates a elevator to a shadow lair, the party is completely locked.

To get 4 tokens, your skills would have to be great in the run and you must have luck.

That's not true. You get double token rewards you would have gotten from a normal run. So you get 6 tokens from a full run, with a random chance to get two bonus for 8, I'd imagine. I haven't actually gotten an extra token in a SL, so I cant speak with certainty.

Should be random...but...

I believe it's random but I often get 4 tokens from snarby when I take no damage for the whole solo run.

Random? Luck? Should be....not sure. Maybe there is an unknown standard for 1 extra token.

From experience, that 4th token is chance-based. The chance, however, isn't uniform. With that, it reduces with every death.

Purely speculation mind; but that's a pattern I've noticed.

Throwing in my two-cents...

For a while, I was speed-running Snarby for some Snarbostuffings, and was reliably getting 4 tokens per run. I'm 99% sure the 4 tokens is luck based, but it's heavily based on the speed of the run, and the amount of damage you take during the run.
