lol Carry sleeping players...that would be hilarious and useful at the same time.

AFAIK, most bosses can't be put to sleep? Don't know for sure, never really tried it...but anyway, what exactly would be the use in relocating monsters? Players who are AFK is useful, but I don't see much use in the monsters being carried around.

It works along with block

It works along with block placement. Generally, you would be able to use sleep vials to put them in sections of the map where they might be blocked off, or at the very will impede their navigation (say you want to get a healing critter away from a mob). Situation specific, you would be able to move monsters away from status effects that could have boosted them( shock gels away from shock traps), and you could drop some monsters into certain traps, i.e., undead onto the path wheel barrows.

They also act as a short-lasting movable barricade (when dropped), since a sleeping monsters blocks the path for any other nearby monster. Or you could be mischievous and drop them onto other players, I suppose ... :3

Attack and grab buttons are the same. It could be annoying in the middle of a battle.

Yes!

Only awkwardness i foresee is a player going unAFK while being carried, but that's not too get around.
Also, hitting players with sleep vials isn't going to be a thing right? you have to wait for them to enter the AFK stage right?
It DOES also make sleep useful.

@LJ The attack/grab thing is hardly more annoying with this than it would be with say placing totems in FSC; just keep a respectable distance from it and you're golden.
+9001 I approve.

A new troll technique, throw a vial while your ally is slaying enemies!

Well, it's pretty much like that anyways with totems or statues. If you can avoid those, you could probably avoid a sleeping player/monster.

And as for the OP, I don't know about introducing that into LD. It's true that there is no weapon currently with sleep, but if one were to come out, it'd be spammed like no other...

Unless you're 1v1ing, I highly doubt you'll have time to lollygag around carrying enemy players into traps, it makes you too vulnerable.

I also doubt sleep will ever be introduced in a weapon, even if it is re-introduced in the Clockworks.

Well, if you knock out half the team, there wouldn't be any opposition to lollygagging, would there be? :P

But you're right, very very little chance of that ever being introduced in a weapon.

I +1 to the original idea.

I +1 to the original idea. That is, making knights sleep after a shorter amount of time, and sleeping monsters and players carryable identical to totems.

None of this "use sleep vials on other knights" or "sleep weapons" garbage you guys are making up on the spot :P

Carrying a sleeping Vanaduke!!!

If Vanaduke is vulnerable to sleep.

Carrying a sleeping player might be funny in a social part of Spiral Knights. Depending on their height (there's nothing for weight), the carrying player will be slowed down various amounts.

This sounds like a fun idea. Plus, it would make it so that if a player was afk for too long, a team-member could move them onto a game-pad (or whatever you call those pads that the entire team has to step on to activate the level).

good idea, but not for vials.

in fact, if you could carry an enemy, you could just get them in whatever charge you want. I would add this only for afkers.

@fall: they are called party buttons. it tells you whan you are on them. but only when you aren't soloing.

well

the player wakes up if he is there. so it would be advisable to drop it automatically. if he just says still, it's just trolling and you leave.
