Has anyone else been encountering 2-3* geared players, with no Vanguard Title (or pre-vanguard title), no friend or guild association, getting into T3 mission lobbies ? Its happened to me 3 times this week soo im going to put it out there for others. Hack ? Unknown bug ? Curious as to how these guys are sneaking in.

[closed] If a SM could move this to the Graveyard that would be great, too many people either flaming or just not even reading the posts, best to leave it to the Bug report.

-_- hack? omg... did you realize this server its so well protected that "hack engines" and stuff like that cant work here? the only way a hack could work if is someone with high knowledge that its able to hack a bank security system.. but of course why someone like them would spent their time hacking a game like this? seriously...

i dont think its a bug. if people have their party "open" to all, then people who have their party finder On, will see the group and join in. since Missions dont restrict what kind of players can join, it let join lower rank knights join to those missions. idk why sometimes i cant join to a friend who have his party open to guild and need help with his mission, since he is a lower rank knights sometimes it dont let me join... so... anyway if you have your party open to everyone they will join no matter if they are lower rank knights...

Maybe OOO should change that.. but they are too lazy with their awesome MMo "Dr Who World" mmo that they really dont care about Spiral Knights. you can notice that with the lag that server its suffering right now...

Saying that you cant hack

Saying that you cant hack this game is clearly a joke, when far better systems are in place on other games such as World of Warcraft, and players hack on there all the time. I know, i have a friend who hacks and Flys around on his ground mounts and teleports around on other characters other than a Mage. No its not a private server, before you make that assumption.

When i was a low level knight i was not capable of joining Vanaduke through party finder, party finder is was relevant to the tier that youre in. Im pretty sure thats how party finder itself works, soo your statement that they join through Party Finder is wrong. If my memory serves right, its also based on mission levels (you cant find/join mission levels that you dont have available).

yea but, Spiral Knights isnt popular. Why hack a game no one heard of? Like hacking a 8 bit adventure rpg game and not Call of Duty.

anyway, those players you run into were kicked from the previous party.
John (player you never met) makes a Vana party.
Luke (Johns lower tier friend) joins John's party
John is angry and tells Luke to leave party
Luke leaves party and is now the leader of his own one.
Tin-Foil-Hat magically appears and seems to be stuck with this guy he never seen or heard of.

other assumption:
or Players like me do douchy moves and heeds the direction of low level acquaintances just for trolling unknowns.
"Canine-Vladmir, can you start me a T3 party?"
*me super-bored "Sure Why Not? >:}"

Sweet-Hope is wrong

The party finder works perfectly; meaning that knights who does not have access to those missions/tier normally will not see higher ranked parties.

HOWEVER.

The party finder is a seperate function to your social tab. You know, the one with all your friends and guildmates? Yeah that. You can use that to join any of your guildmates or friends wherever they are, no matter what rank you are.

P.S. Sweet-Hope please use better punctuation. It hurts my eyes.

No, thats not what happens.

No, thats not what happens. People hack all kinds of thing, why ? Because they can.

How do i know that that is incorrect ? Because ive have these players join me immediately after creating a T3 lobby. Thus no friends, no guildmates to do said actions, which would prove that situation wrong.

@Metal Hat Guy
oh. You didn't make yourself clear in the original post. Or i didn't get it at first.
So random noobs are joining you AFTER you make a party.
In that case, I am at a loss of words.
It might be a bug not fixed.

@ Etharaes - As i said

@ Etharaes - As i said previously , confirming no associations through the social tab, no guild or friend associations. I know how party finder works, which is why im confused as to how these players are sneaking in.

@ C-V - Yes thats pretty much what im saying, which is why im asking if anyone else has had this happen or if its an unknown bug. I have sent in a bug report about it though today.

Erm it's not an unknown bug or a hack. You can join people on your friends/guild list by clicking on their name. Surprised you didn't know this.
Also, more skilled lobby hoppers can use other players to "Beacon" themselves in, and appearing like they've come from nowhere with no relations
Note that you don't have to be Vanguard to join most Tier 3 missions.
And just because someone appears to be tier 2, doesn't mean they've never had tier 3 equipment before

I don't think it's a glitch, bug or hack. I think it's just that they are either loading, or you are completely blind and need to see the eye doctor. Maybe that also explains why you don't have good grammar, hmm?

Grammar Nazi looking for attention.

You're insulting players with the ignorant assumption that they don't know how to use proper grammar, wow. It's a forum, bro, It's not like we are taking the SAT/ACT or working a job that requires perfect grammar. You must be quite the master at social interaction.

Anyways aside from your blatant flaming, my eyes are perfectly fine, thank you.

How is it ignorant to suggest

How is it ignorant to suggest it is a bug or hack exactly ? Oh look someone taking something out of context without reading. Never did i state that this is infact a hack or bug, i suggested that it could be either.

Let me go over what the issue is, since you clearly didnt read.

1. Random Players with no association joining the group.

-This means they are not on anyones friend list or in anyones guild.

2. The random players joining do not meet the requirements to be in the mission.

- This means they do not have the appropriate rank, gear. This means the missions will not be available to them via party finder.

You cannot join a mission that you do not have available yet through party finder. Which dismisses the first posters claim that you could. Ive already said prior that no one had any association to these random players and confirmed it with any existing party members when this happened, in addition it happened when i created a lobby of my own, a random player who no association to me nor with the proper requirements joined my lobby. This could suggest a hack/exploit or a bug that may not be known.

To go back to the subject of "why would anyone hack this game", its pretty simple. Its a game with steam trade, you get crowns, you buy CE, you now have acquired an in-game currency that is worth real money. This can be used to purchase items for other games, or even actual games. There is plenty reason for people to have interests in hacking this game.

1)how do you know the random

1)how do you know the random person have no friends?

2)i could have 5* gear and join then equip 3* gear for heating and such (missions were a late update, and when missions came out for the first time, i had lots of 5*, so when missions first came out, you were recruit, so i can join a friend of mine who's vanguard and he/she had to leave, so i'm the party leader as a recruit with 3*)

3)like what other people said, why would anyone hack a game that's not even popular? if it was so popular, why do i see less and less people from the day it came out on steam to now

4)how is joining friends a bug...............................................................

Can the people you were with give screenshot evidence that the player that joined was not on their friends/guild list? You sound like a thorough bloke, but you can't make up for other peoples mistakes.

Terribly sorry we have a

Terribly sorry we have a large group of people here that can't read.

Now, you have to remember that after the king of ashes mission there were a few more that would award you vanguard after completing them. I'm assuming these random people have piggybacked other players through all the previous missions and are joining the king of ashes parties in hopes of finishing the mission and being awarded vanguard rank.

Remember, you weren't vanguard when you first did the king of ashes.

The gap youkai is confused

Maybe players have alts that they don't add on their friends list. Player A invites their alts by typing in their name when they click 'invite under the freinds dropdown menu in social. And no this not a bug or glitch. But with CE whiners you can see why people are creating alternate knights.

At least I think this is one solution.

hey...

i got some skills for you.
./invite
you no need friend or guild, just /invite.

champion player can enter KoA,random player can enter KoA ONLY when they got invited.
kinda annoying knight elite can enter the KoA mission but i usually carry until 3rd floor.Sometimes they have revive partey~ exploding wave of revive 1 after another XD,i'm also scared how much energy they have. SCARY~ as F2P.

some things

1. party finder finds only parties of the arcade or on mission on your rank or lower. party finder cannot be used for this.
2. only crazy people hack this game. it's not popular, it's a F2P, and monsters are fairly easy. so, unless those guys killed a zombie with 2 attacks, it's not an hack.
3. bug? if it's only your problem, it's not a bug. and it seems so.
4. /invite or /join require confirmation. I think. if not, it must be fixed.
5. if this people joining are 2* or 3*, they are probably reading this thread and they are /join-ing us right now. if 4 is true, ofc.
