Which soundtrack should I get?

I got a gift card for Amazon last Christmas, and I think I've finally made up my mind of something to get with it! (See subject if you have a habit of clicking on threads without reading the subject.) Although I'll still have some more money on the card after buying a soundtrack, I'd rather use the rest of it for something else. (Don't worry, I might pick up the other later! ;)

Listening to the samples of the first soundtrack, it sounds like it's just the game's music in MP3 form, which I'm not really looking for. However I have no clue if this is true, because you only get to listen to about 10-20 seconds of the song before the sample ends. Volume II sounds a tad different, though, so I'm thinking of getting that one.

However, I want to ask the community which album takes the cake, and to what extent the first album is like the game's music.

If I ever see any of these remixed songs on Youtube, I'm reporting/flagging them for copyright infringement, and walking away. (Assuming they are even remixed...if they were the straight songs from SK, and SK being free in that respect, then it would probably be fine.)

But anyway...back to the topic.

Awesomest ones

"Mettle of a Gremlin," "Lucky Knight" and "The Confrontation" are the best ones from Volume 1. "A Dangerous Game," "Hail to our Heroes," "King Tinkinzar's Command," and "Lichen to a Polyp" are my favorites from Volume 2. Take your pick.

the soundtrack editions are remixed to be a little bit fuller, and to have actual endings as opposed to just cutting off. The ones on youtube are straight from the files.

Volume 1 was a straight strip from the SK soundtracks. Since they are meant to be looped the endings are abrupt. That is mostly not the case for Volume 2.

Actually, both OSTs were modified to have different endings so that they don't sound as if they loop. The sound quality is also higher than what is in game.

To your original question though, buying both is scientifically proven to make you a more handsome and popular individual.

don't buy the albums just the top 5 songs and you are set. I have them and I tell you only the main theme is worth having.
