.

you'd better think in 5* terms since you may end up with some weird useless crap you don't even want to upgrade.

result: ragequit.

Thanks. How about if I try 4*

Thanks. How about if I try 4* since 5* is too expensive for me.

How do I get a picture as well? I could never figure it out

You will get 5* eventually,

You will get 5* eventually, first get a 2* weapon you like (and make sure they have a alchemy line that ends in 5*) and upgrade them. I would suggest the calibur or brandish series. Never buy 4* or higher with crowns. Even 3* sometimes.

In the end, any weapon can kill if used properly. It mostly depends on what you like.
The only advice to give is to try to cover multiple damage types and avoid dead ends (cautery sword, hot edge)

Pro-Con-Guy, we need to know what mix of weapons you like: swords, guns, bombs, or some mixture? If you use any swords, I have a detailed sword guide that should be useful to you. Also, you might try reading the Gunslinger Guide and the Bombing Guide on the wiki, to learn more about your options. As the others have said, it would be best to plan in terms of 5-star equipment, even if you're very far away from it right now, because that's where everything ends up.

I myself like the classic gun and sword combo. Bombs are good too, but I prefer swords and guns. Does anyone know how to "upgrade" the wolver coat? I am not sure how to upgrade weapons and armor.

Explained in game

Pro-Con-Guy,
Frankly, I feel as if this would be better explained in-game. If you just want to friend me, I could help you figure out which armor you want and answer any questions you have. I'll be back on sometime on Thursday, if you want to wait that long.

IGN (In-Game-Name): SergeantWrench

Cheers.

wiki "Crafting"

To learn about upgrading items, read the wiki page "Crafting". Crafting is also explained in several of the rank missions.

If you like swords and guns, and don't mind learning the rules of the game, then I recommend a piercing sword with an elemental gun (as I explain in the Mixing Weapon Types section of my sword guide). A shadow sword with elemental gun is also a good combination. If you don't want to learn the rules of the game, then consider a normal sword with either a normal gun or an elemental gun.

You can be a wolver clone and get that, because a lot of people use it. Not saying it's bad, just saying it's...popular. However, some people have different opinions. I've seen people that actually go up the Cobalt line, right up to Azure Guardian, while some people like me go up the less common lines (Chroma, Plate, Jelly?)

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Chose Chroma!

It's popular with the girls...girl chromalisks, that is. ;)

Anyway, I can help answer any other questions you may have. The default cobalt stuff works fine, but if you want something that suits your style more. I like Cutters, Magnuses, Catalyzers, Alchemers (in this case, the fire version) , and Fiery Vaporizers. Just keep in mind that some of these are a pain to use, but I find them all fun, especially certain combos, like vaporizer+cutter makes for several small hits overtime rapidly. There are some other weapons which I've forgotten, but these are my favorites.

(If you do chose any of these, make sure you research; your tastes are probably different from mine!)

As for armors it also depends on your preference...if you're going to mix your weapons either getting magic for chaos or a defensive set would work.
