no loading screen and )funnily enough) nothing loading

SK has been running fine on my machine, apart from a few glitches and >>>>>THE LAG<<<<<< (which is another issue altogether) until today when I tried to play, started up fine, ready room all normal, first thing I noticed was my loadouts missing, thought it might just be a bug, sent a report, equiped my usual LD gear and signed up, when LD started there was no loading screen, and everything was black, chat still worked fine but nothing else would do anything. I tried with missions and the same thing happened

I have tried the shotgun method, my drivers are up to date, java is running fine (works on everything else too) and reinstalled SK and the same thing happened

my pc is far above the specs required, I run windows 8 if that helps any.

any suggestions?

The usual, try to update java, drivers and reinstall the game.

What is up?

I quite a long time ago but decided to come back and find that it refuses to work via steam and issues like this? I am updated in everything and it should work fine and I'm seeing others have the same issue. It is also discouraging to see that the lag problem has not been fixed in well over a year or two (It was the reason I quit). Is this going to be fixed or should I just uninstall SK and Steam again and leave till it has it's stuff together?
