WTS HERPDEWPSREIGHWEPG in the Zone chat - is it/should it be punishable?

I - among everyone else who ever visits Haven - knows that there's an awful lot of people sending trade related messages in the /1, Zone chat, while there's a channel, /2, Trade chat, which is intended for this very matter, yet people insist on using /1 for it. Why are people so terribly cruel? Can we really allow this? Is it even allowed? Is it classified as spam? Where do baby wolvers come from?

Discuss. A GM answer would also be cool. Not gonna waste their time with a support ticket though - they have more important things to do ;3

channel 2.
Could be worse things in the zone1 chat though.

You can Ignore it as a player. Can't do much unless you're a GM.

If they keep posting it within a short time, it is.

I hate when people do that. It spams the chat and pushes other trade messages out of the chat box so people have to scroll through all those solids. Especially when they do it in more than one chat channel, public and /1, where they copy-paste it first into one then before anyone can even think of typing something pasting it again in the other channel. Cut it out.

I figured there was a trade chat that you had to "join" 6 months into sk.

So to blame people for not using it, when it's almost purposfully hidden would make little sense.

And baby wolvers come from the pit of hell. (ie: They grow up to be Jempire wolver clones! That ambush you in gvg)

So it wasn't obvious, eh? Dunno how I found out, might've been due to my experience with other MMOs. Alas, OOO are then to blame for not informing properly.

I think there could be a filter that would remove anything that contains the words/phrases/abbreviations/turtles selling, buying, trading, wts, wtb, wtt, s>, b>, t> and such. (Oh, X>... Makes me miss the good ol' Ragnarök Online days when people would use shorter and fancier stuff.)

Nah, just serious people. If they can't give me a laugh, I just want them to get out already because they're abusing /1's purpose. It's not like anyone who wants to buy your (no, not yours, just any annoying person's) stoopid ASI Med Brandish because if I did, I'D BE IN /2 OR IN THE FORUMS OR ON THE AH. Then again, information...

I do see those who post in /1 and /2 and that is just plain low.

What are we meant to use /1 for? I barely use /1.

There is /2 for trading, if I want to search a person, I will just /tell them. Seriously, what's the point of having /1

Because if you don't use /1, people who haven't yet joined /2 can't read your WTB/WTS message.

Pretty simple. You'd be surprised to see how many people haven't yet found about the /join 2.

If you see a person

If you see a person excessively using the /1 chat for trade purposes, ask them to move into channel 2. If they outright refuse, and continue the spam, I guess you could either report them or ignore them.
If a lot of people are using the /1 channel just for general chatter, especially talk you don't really care about, you can leave the /1 channel by typing "/leave 1"
I actually enjoy when people use the zone chat, I find it irritating when people post enourmous speech bubbles of their trade stuff that just blocks your view and you can't "leave" the normal chat channel.

It definitely should be. And the game should tell you in the tutorial or wherever it first tells you how to use zone chat.
