What are some good weapon/armor loadouts for a pure Bomber build?

So I was originally going to make a Gunslinger (building a character from scratch, no funding, no prebought CE), and I've come to find that, after playing around with the Proto Bomb, I enjoy bombing a LOT more than shooting things. It's more exciting and I think I'm going to make a Bomber instead, one dedicated to support.

So, can anyone recommend me some possible weapon loadouts? I'm definitely going with a Shivermist eventually, but the other three bombs are up in the air. And what kind of armor should I be using? I want one that offers balanced defenses/resistances, with bomb-specific benefits being a luxury but not a necessity.

I appreciate any and all advice on this matter.

Bombing Guide

Have you read the Bombing Guide on the wiki? Once you do, you can ask more specific questions.

I've read it. How does this

I've read it. How does this bomb loadout look in general?

Nitronome
Shivermist Buster
Graviton Vortex

I don't know what my 4th bomb should be.

I'd go for the Volcanic Demo Set. It's the most widely used armour set for haze and vortex bombers with the CTR Med on each piece. That combined with a Level 10 bomb would give you CTR Maximum. The Volcanic Demo Set also protects from fire, a status found in abundance in the FSC, a common endgame destination.

As for bombs, if you already have the OCH (Operation Crimson Hammer) expansion, I would recommend the Dark Retribution. It's extremely useful for crystals and other breakable blocks, and effective against Jellies especially in the Royal Jelly Palace which is also a common grindspot. If you don't have the expansion, I've noticed that you have a Normal Damage bomb, an elemental and a shadow bomb. What you're missing, is a piercing bomb. I personally use the Scintillating Sun Shards line, but it may be unwieldy to most beginner bombers so the Barbarous Briar Barrage line is probably recommended.

Interesting. What you could do is go for Kat Hiss Cowl and Mercurial Demo. You'd end up with:
14 normal
7 shadow
6 elemental
+4 Freeze
+2 Shock
-1 Curse
+2 Bomb Damage
+1 Bomb Charge Time Reduction
+1 Move Speed Increase

I find that poison and fire resistance are of low value outside of C42. Hell, I can purebomb Vanaduke with a fire penalty.

If you want more balance in your defence, though, we could try the bomber's equivalent of Divine Veil + Skolver:
Volcanic Demo Helm
Radiant Silvermail

You'll end up with
7 Normal
6 Elemental
7 Piercing
7 Shadow
+4 Fire
+4 Poison
+4 Curse
+2 Damage versus undead
+2 Bomb Charge Time Reduction

But I'd really advice you ignore piercing altogether.

A decent recipe for a bomb loadout is Nitro/DBB + Mist + Vortex + Status Shards.

I think

I think I love you.
XD I am a aupport bomber who's come a loonnng way. I think i can help~

Grab yourself a good ol demo set for starters. Best for support is Volcanic variant, keeps you on the field if you happen to get hit.

as for bombs, you may want to try another mist bomb, possibly voltaic or something.

VORTEX BOMB. This is an important bomber support tool.

Wild card. you could put just about anything here, wether its a pulsar to defend yourself when your team is down (or to safely push/aggro enemies away from someone you need to rev.) or a Heavy sword to fall back on when you get swamped by bullrushing enemies (like greavers) or even a BIG ANGRY BOMB, trust me is does wonders when you need some fightin room.

The choice is yours, and *IMPORTANT NOTE* if you have a wide enough arsenal, you could even consult your team for what they are using, and choose what best compliments their arsenal. [EG. your team likes brandishes? GRAB YOUR VORTEX MUAHAHA, your team will love you]

Good luck!! I look forward to seeing you progress as a bomber.
