Please don't accuse me of posting spoilers if it occurs in-game.

What i posted earlier occurred in-game, during an FSC run. When it happened i mentioned it to my entire guild and a few friends on my list. No manipulation of the game files occurred at any time and i have several screenshots to show my CE/CR total was consistent with it having occurred during an actual game. I thought it was rude and inconsiderate for a certain GM to attempt to paint me as a spoiler, as spoiling is against the rules, hence, the aforementioned GM basically called me a rule breaker :(

Greetings, If you have any

Greetings,
If you have any problems or complaints concerning your warning or support history, then please contact us either by e-mail or by sending a support ticket. Much like bans, we don't discuss warnings with the player on the forums and we'll be happy to hear your side if you believe you've been wronged.

I would like to vouch for Poetry's character. I have been playing with him for more than a year and have never seen anything but honest intentions and good sportsmanship in game from him.

If one sees something in a game and happens to ss it, its a find, not a spoiler. This is my opinion. A communicate to the contrary in the negative is not in the spirit of "the find". I speak in Hypotheticals, of course.

wow

10 minutes later and a GM replies. Way not to act guilty OOO
/sarcasm

I for one would take Poetry's side in this and I don't know him at all. If it is in game, then it has already been released. We're talking reglar server, not test. If something is on the regular servers and it's not supposed to be, it is your fault OOO.

To give a player a warning or ban over that not only is petty, but immature and quite frankly being a pretentious ****. That's OOO's fault, not the players. Get your crap together and reprimand the Dev that mistakenly put it in or overlooked it. If anything you should be thanking Poetry, him being a longstanding and loyal player besides. But giving us crap for it is ridiculous

He never said he got banned. He probably got his thread removed and a notice in game. (These notices are given next time you log in. I've seen another player show a picture of this one time when his name "Echo" was taken by a HoH NPC. I think his name got changed back, though, because he wasn't too happy.)

I doubt he got somehow marked for posting a spoiler, and if he did it's probably been fixed by Eury at this point. The thing is, maybe that was a crafty edit, but I doubt it. Of course, we'll never know. Griping to a company like this without knowing the circumstances starts wars. :P

If it appears in the game

If it appears in the game with no modifications while on the main, public server, then it is not spoiler. It may have been accidentally added into the game by the development team, but it becomes an official part of the game regardless. Punishing someone for sharing something they merely stumbled upon during normal circumstances is unethical and is an unhealthy, and terribly shady, business practice.

@ autofire

I said a warning or a ban.

By Atalanta's post saying that they do not discuss player warnings on the forums, it is confirmed that he did receive an in-game warning, which is no less inappropriate.

I'm not griping, simply saying as duke did they this is far outside of a correct response on OOO's part. And I read the thread in question, and the OP here, so the circumstances are fairly well known.

I doubt it

It was clearly fake, there's no doubt in my mind about it.

I saw the thread that was removed and the content. If it really was legit it probably wouldn't have been removed since, if what you say is true, it was in-game in an obtainable place. If its normally obtainable then it wouldn't have been a spoiler. See Darkfang shields as an example. He didn't change any of the game files alright, he just did some photoshops.

All I see happening is someone trying to whip the forums into a frenzy over a "rare" drop. The admins probably removed the thread so it didn't turn into a huge garbage thread of people begging for more information about something that doesn't exist. Nothing good could have come of it.

This is why you never ever modify your game client.

I've never modified my game

I've never modified my game client. I wouldn't even know how to begin to do that. I'm not very tech savvy. And no it wasn't a modified picture either.

I sent support some some screenshots and whatever extra information i had. They should be able to determine that i was logged in during an actual game, i gave them the exact time the incident happened.

Eh, whether it's shopped or not, I'm pretty certain even if this was a legit case Three Rings would still handle it in an embarassingly unprofessional fashion. Lest we forget the ridiculous "Echo debacle" back when the HoH npcs were introduced.

the funny thing about spoilers is...

...you dont know you did it till you log in and find a GM note waiting for you :)

Remember putting some pics of WHB animation and then it was registered as a 'spoiler'

anyway, i quickly learned to think twice about putting things up, even though it was an honest mistake.

I'm sorry, but these things do not just happen to one person at a time by accident. You modded your game files and posted evidence of it online.

Luck only comes into play when the server actually lets it happen in the first place.

So no. He's modded his game files with preview client files.

Well, they're looking into it, support status is "escalated to lead." Hopefully they'll figure out what happened on their side.

I certainly don't want people to think that i was trying to spoil the game for anyone by allegedly tinkering with the files or doctoring an image.

I don't know what's going on here. Maybe what you saw was bugged? Altought it's OOOs fault if it leaks, they have the right to remove it.

They were rude but they didn't ban you?

No they didn't ban me, i just

No they didn't ban me, i just got a warning, but i was irked because what had happened had a occurred during my regular play sessions.

I've had weird issues before. Once 900 ce disappeared from my account overnight and after reporting it, it took 3-4 weeks before i got it back. Never found out what made steam trading glitch that time. So maybe this will also turn out to be murky in the end too.
