So I’ve been playing Spiral Knights for about 2 months now and I now have a great arsenal of 5 star gears. Having completed the whole campaign I now am going to try my hand at a Shadow Lair. Of course I haven’t done any SLs yet so I have to start at Rabid Snarbolax. Before going out into the SL I need to know some good gear for it. Remember I don’t have access to any Snarbolax armors.
So I did some research on the wiki and I found that the deadly virluisk armor set has piercing and poison resistance! Perfect! Although I have never really seen anyone ever use that armor set in the SL. For a shield I thought a Dread Skelly Shield would do great just because if has shadow resistance and poison (Vile Howlitzers) I can dodge most rabid wolver hits so I really only need a shield for the Howlitizers and the very few gun puppies.
My basic weapon loadout (Can be adjusted) is a DA, Trollaris, FF, and Shiv. Divine avenger for smacking Howlitizers and other elemental weakness enemies, Trollaris for taking them out from a distance, FF for the Rabid wolvers, boss, and silkwings, and the shiv for defensive crown control. In the Unknown Passage I would have a DA, GF, FF and Trollaris as well as full skolver armor (Shadow increased med for helm and elemental increase high on coat :DDD)
So, is this loadout a good idea? If it isn’t please post a better loadout in the comments.

In case you haven't seen it, the wiki page "Shadow Lair" has basic equipment suggestions for each Shadow Lair. But you seem to have the basics in place already...
All of your weapons sound good. In particular, DA is a good choice for elemental sword, because it can hit multiple kats and zombies at once, and knock them away from you. It's a fine idea for someone in your party to carry Shivermist Buster, but you probably don't need more than one.
Your armor is fine, but I wouldn't get Deadly Virulisk just for this Shadow Lair. Its offensive bonus is going to waste. I'd go with some mixture of Skolver, Dread Skelly, Fallen, Deadshot, Shadowsun, etc. Really, if you have Skolver Cap, Skolver Coat, a shadow shield, and a decent party, then you should be okay.
