First off "Can't tell if belongs in New Recruits, or General Discussion"

Anyhow, I've been hearing random snippets of commentary about "Mist Seperation" and I was wondering.....What is that?
Something to do with Mist on Paid accounts or something....
Can Someone please Explain what it is? Its not mentioned on Energy FAQ and I couldn't find a preexisting forum post on it....
Thanks

I don't know, but

I've never heard the term "mist separation". Until someone who has heard of it chimes in, here's my understanding...

You can have multiple Spiral Knights accounts, and access them from the same computer. Each account can hold up to three knights. The three knights all share crystal and mist energy.

Each account is marked either "unpaid" (meaning that money has never been spent on it) or "paid" (meaning that it has). I once heard that buying elevator passes doesn't count toward this, but I can't confirm that.

You can have one unpaid mist energy stream per computer. Therefore, if you have multiple unpaid accounts, then they all share mist. Each of your paid accounts has its own mist energy stream.

From what I've heard

You have an account, or several on your computer, and they're all marked as unpaid.
Therefore, each and every one of your knights shares the same mist pool, all across your accounts.

As soon as you buy CE (Not an Elevator Pass, unless it comes with CE in a pack), your account is marked as paid. From then on, each of your accounts (Not the knights on the account) has its own mist pool.

Sounds broken? It is.

Of course, I'm also speculating and going on rumors, so don't hold me to this.
If you log onto a paid account on a different computer, that's when the problems start to happen. Something about connecting it to Steam or something would make you able to switch it back, not sure.

So Each Knight on a paid

So Each Knight on a paid account still has shared mist?
Also Yeah, I got an ele pass a long while back (only thing) and I don't think it counts. My account has, however seperate mist from my other mules so thats an interesting thing. Now I'm confused as to Mist on separate Knights of a single account....
:L
huh.

Energy is per account, not per knight

Energy is tracked by account, not by knight. Regardless of "paid" vs. "unpaid", all three knights on a single account share crystal energy and mist energy (but not crowns, recipes, items, etc.). Let me know if you find this to be false.

Mist is always shared between

Mist is always shared between knights on an account, regardless of whether or not they paid?
hmmm....

Time to test it....

Yes
The energy on an account is always shared between knights on the account. So if I created another knight on my steam account that knight would use the same mist as my main knight on the same account
