Recording #1, Recon Day
Told by: Carim

Hah, hah, funny you should ask why we're here. I hate the smell of the Gloaming Wildwoods. What? Never heard of it before? Oh, yeah. Your not part of........THE CONQUERER SQUAD. THE MIGHTY, THE AWESOME, nah. I'm not going to get into all that stuff.
So, my name is Carim. The leader, of this squad. Well, basically the leader. Everybody else is just a bunch of idiots who don't know where they're going, so I have to help. It all started on, wait, next paragraph please.
It all started on, well, who cares? On, This Day, I was promoted to a Recon Knight, like Knights from the higher guilds. Yeah, not 5 star piece-of-cake guys, more like 3 to 4 star Knights. Being a Recon Knight means you can make your own squad. That's exactly what I did the minute I went out of base. Never fancied wolver skin or chroma meat. So, I decided to go on 3 star quarters, the main part of the Knight city. The awesome thing about going there on Common- Days Is that everybody expects a Recon Knight, so they get all dressed up in their best armor and be all "SIR!" or, for me, "MA'M" or something. Those guys are willing to do anything to break free from 3 star quarters. It's all fun-and-games till you get there. In 3 star training, they make you work on endurance and strength. The first 2 stars and novice rank(0 stars)cover technique. Being picked out to be on a Recon- Team is like being whisked away from jail, and nobody forgets what you did. So, as I walk out the building, the first guy I notice is Chey, well, I didn't know his name, but the reason I noticed him was because he wasn't, well, in his best armor. He was in a very muddy suit or armor, with jelly ooze and zombie bites everywhere. The fact that he was experienced, according to his armor, and that he didn't care about his armor made me think if he would be good on my team. On one hand, I liked his intelligence of putting on scratched up armor to show that he fought a lot, but on the other hand, he really needed some better gear. So I talked to him, and he wasn't picked on a team yet. Well, that wasn't a surprise because I was the first out of the ceremony building. Okay, I admit, it went more like this:
"Oh, hi there."
"Um, hi?"
"My name is Carim, and I am a Recon Knight, and am recruiting Knights on my team."
"How many people are on the team yet?"
"Well, zero."
"I guess I join. The name's Chey."
"Has anyone else picked you out for their team yet?"
"No."
"Okay, meet me at the 341 Post if you decide."
"Gotcha."
Well, you might think that seems to awkward, but that's how it goes with almost any Knight. Every Knight has some regulations about the team they want to get on, so weird questions that are asked aren't always necessarily "weird," especially with Technicians (Knights these days, ugh). Okay, I was kind of dazed because of his striking looks, and really embarrassed. I was practically blushing all the way through, but I don't want to get into my love-life. That was just one Knight, so I wasn't sure how weird it would be with others. I went down the courtyard of the city more, then I spotted a riot. A riot of hungry Recon Knights you could say. They were crowded around a giant guy , asking him questions, obviously about putting himself on their team. Okay, not very giant, but you could see that he was definitely a Guardian. Oh, I forgot to tell you about Recon Squads. In order to make a good Recon Squad, you need different types of people to do different jobs. On the first few years of Knight training, you sign up for different things, like Bombing, Mining, Hacking, etc., but it all comes down to the six basic foundations, Striker, Guardian, Scout, Technician, Medic, and Sniper. Without them, managing a squad is very difficult. But you don't want more than one of each, or your team won't be very prepared, so my advice on becoming a Recon Knight: Find one of each person. It's generally best to keep away from high-attention Knights, because you can't take good chances on them becoming a part of your squad. If you do that, you won't have anybody to fill in a job at the last moment, but I decided to snag the chance, somehow. Unlike most Guardians, he had a regular looking Spiral Knight helmet, not like the Checkerboard horse helmet. I can understand why he didn't want to put one of those things on; they were a s ugly as devilites themselves. On his back, he had a fierce looking plasma rifle, usually meaning hostility or "I wanna punch someone in their face's temple , but the way nobody was calling him "rude," and the fact that he had a lot of buyers, made me realize that he had some talent stored up in him. As the other, fellow Recon Knights staggered away, hoping he might decide to go on their team team, I stepped in to talk to him.
"What's your name?" the man asked.
It seemed really odd that a lower-ranked knight just asked me that, but it seemed he had a good reputation, so I let it slide.
"Carim, a Recon Knight. I'm hoping that you would join my team. What's your name?"
"Bruce. Hm. What were you trained to be?"
Now I felt as if I was listening to a wise, old man. I hoped this conversation would end soon.
"As 2 star Knight, Commando. 3 star Knight, Striker."
"Hm. Never heard that all day." I knew I had the upper hand if he wanted a former Commando as his squad leader.
"What's your Training Post number?"
"341. Just around the corner."
"I'll think about it."
Judging on all other conversations, that was probably the strangest conversation I'd had for recruiting if you ask me. He didn't even ask me how many people were in my team, or any special questions. Well, that's that. So, a Guardian and a.......I forgot to ask what Chey's class was. With people like Bruce, you knew their job, but Chey seemed like normal person, maybe a Scout or Striker. I decided it wasn't worth it to hire two people for the same job. Like I said, a team just needs one of each. Luckily, the Common Days, the days where most Majors graduate to become a Recon Knight and pick out knights to be on their Recon-Team, lasts 3 weeks. Although I should keep my anxiousness down, they say the best squads are ready within the first week, because of the leader's quick thinking. Tomorrow, hopefully Chey and Bruce would show up at the Training Post. Recon Day, the first day of the Common Days, was already ending, fast at sundown. I decided to go to my new Recon dorm and get a rest. Hopping on my energy-powered bed, I hoped my judgment on all the rest of the Knights would be good.
Recording #2, Gun Punching
Told By: John
{I'll be doing the recording, Carim, Sara is already done hacking the controls. Oh sorry there. Carim can kind of be, kind of a slow story teller. *punch*. Anyways.....I think I should tell one of the important parts. *punch again*. STOP IT!}
As I woke up, the ceiling seemed to be marked with loads of outpost numbers. Actually, the ceiling WAS covered in them. During Recon Day, many people are eager to get "specialists" in their groups. AKA Survivors, or Spies. Like Carmin said, there are 6 basic foundations of a Recon Team, but every once in a while there seems to be some "chosen ones" who are good enough to learn survival skills or the art of espionage. Since I'm a Survivor, you might say I got a lot of interviews. Now, that day, the second day of the Common Days, was just beginning. On Rifle Day, everybody comes and shows off their sharpshooting skills. Lucky for Technicians, they don't need to even go out of their dorm during that day. My roommate, Chey, had the exact opposite number of interviews. He was only interviewed by 2 Recon Knights. You might think he was bad at his skill, being a Striker, but the truth is, he's really good. The reason many people don't pick him is because, chances are, he's not going to go onto the team. Over the past 3 years, Chey has tried to improve, and skipped most of the Common Days throughout his time. He just ALWAYS wants to improve, so much that he's willing to spend more time in 3 star quarters instead of a team. You'd think he'd want to go on a team this year, since he actually stepped out of his dorm, but I don't think so. Chey just slipped back into his cot once he prepared his breakfast. Instead of doing that, I went outside to the Shooting Hall. The Shooting Hall is basically a giant field with targets everywhere. But I didn't know much, since it was my first year. I decided to back off for at least another year into training, but that didn't mean I couldn't try to impress everybody. Grabbing my model Punch Gun, I headed out to the shooting hall. The Punch Gun I had, was not a 3 star weapon, but a 2 star weapon. But that's for everything I have, except for my Tempered Caliber. Just a year ago, I was wearing 2 star armor, and I still am. I moved up to 3 star so early because of my survival skills. Yeah. In the arenas, I was always the last man standing. Not because I fight hard, but because I'm more of the "hit-and-run" type of guy. But having 2 star gear won't bring me down on interviews. Well, according to the day before. As the first Recon Knight saw me when I entered the Shooting Hall, I seriously though about running. I have a good reputation among many ranks, even Sergeants, who are well past Recon Leagues. I quickly ran to a shaded tent held up by sticks before I had Recons all over me. Most of the 3 star Knights were there, meaning I was in the right place. Suddenly, a loudspeaker in the middle of the field turned on.
"Attention! The shooting tests are now beginning."
Shooting tests as in showing off skill. Right after that, everybody in the tent, except for some Knights who were probably already recruited, went down to the field. A group of 10 Knights lined up plenty feet behind different targets. Not ultra-super high-tech targets, but just bow and arrow targets. Well, what could expect from Strangers. The Knights pulled out their gun in different styles, and pointed to the targets. Even before they fired, Recon Knights crowded around the field started taking notes frantically. Suddenly, the first one shot a plasma bullet straight at the target. It missed by about 2 inches from the center, leaving a green, plasma substance in the hole. About 2 seconds later, the next one shot. A compact fire bomb projectile sped out of the gun into the target. Even if it hit bull's-eye, it would be hard to tell since the target shattered and completely burned up in one second. Then, the pattern went again. *CLANG* *SLASH* *MISS* *BOOM*. The Recons probably had super vision, for they wrote down a note for every Knight's shot. After the last one was done, different regular Knights carried the damaged targets away and replaced them with new ones. I decided to go, and got to the tenth target. The shots rang by quickly. As soon as the person left to me was done shooting, I shot my punch gun. I'm pretty sure I didn't hit the bull's-eye, but it seemed to attract a lot of attention among the Knights. Recons started writing twice as fast onto clipboards. The punch gun, literally, made the target flying into the air, heading backwards at an abundant speed. It wasn't till 10 seconds later that it finally crashed, into a building. Before I could think about if that was good or bad, I heard someone shout.
"HEY! WATCH OUT!"
Instinctively, I turned around. Right in front of me was a slobbering zombie. I'd been to zombie classes before. You might think to shoot the head, but you should really do it to the chest, or the neck. The chest is very fragile and just a few hits on it will make it fall apart. In-a-matter-of-fact, that's how dust zombies got their name. You should only shoot to the neck if it's a poison spitting zombie. That way, the zombie will get decapitated. The body can still attack, but no more zombie spit will get on you. But I've never faced a real zombie, and this zombie, up close, was one hundred times scarier up close than the pictures. It only took a millisecond before a laser blob punctured its chest and the zombie was in bits. It might take three to two hits for a regular gun, but punch guns are the real punch. If it could send a target flying from one shot, it could take the zombie out of dust zombie. At first, I couldn't even believe I had killed it. Immediately after, Knights went wild. Many Medics stood around me to see if I was okay. I bite won't make you infected with "zombie disease," but it could leave you paralyzed. A large gate opened as top notch 5 star guards immediately went to see what happened. Suddenly, everyone was in a HUGE riot. Most Knights were talking about whether I was okay or not, or about why a zombie had infiltrated Haven. Many squads of guards evacuated everyone and inspected the area for possible break-ins. An hour later, reports say that nothing had been broken and that there was no way a zombie could get in. Reporters were everywhere, asking me about what happened. The top notch guards even asked the Strangers of Haven's original inhabitance and if there were any graveyards around. Many Recons were, as usual throwing post numbers at me like crazy. I hoped something good would happen the next day.
[TheGreatPiggy Speaks] Please give me your feedback. I wish I could do better, but it's hard making a different world and explaining it properly. Also, tell me if there are any spelling mistakes. Some auto-correct thing (or my clumsy hands) keeps making things from "Gloaming" to "Wloaming"
and, um, stuff.
The narration is nice, but I don't really like that "high-horse" attitude the character has. Well, I supposed that will change should some calamity happens XD
