I'm figuring that I should join a guild, but I'm not sure how to pick one. Some guilds are pretty focused, but a lot of the more casual ones seem pretty same-y to me. I'm not really into PvP, but otherwise like to explore the game. I try to log in every day, if only to use my mist, but I work six days a week, so I'm pretty sure I don't put the same time in as a more serious player. I don't have much experience with coop tactics, but I'd like to learn and play with people who want to get better at it. I recently reset my character(s), so I'm a squire working with 1* gear, but I'm steadily working him back up. I'm kind feeling like I should try to get into whichever one has the name I like best (wouldn't mind joining a guild called "Happy Campers" :D ). All in all, it kinda seems like a toss up. Any tips/suggestions? Thanks.
How did you choose your guild?
Well, first off, you should probably know what you want. Do you want to join a PvP guild, recreational guild or something else? Do you want to join a new small guild, or a big 'famous' guild? Something in between maybe?
A little tip for searching is to use things like the guild pages on the wiki. The wiki guild page is a bit mixed though, some guilds are probably long gone, and some guilds maintain their guild page very well (this in itself can be an indicator). I remember finding a guild there and decided to try and join it, only to find that it had merged with another and then died or something like that.
Also, the forum searchbar is pretty damn terrible. If you want to search for mentions of a guild on the forums I'd suggest using Google (correctly). If I were to search for a guild named "Cerberus Squad" or whatever, I'd first do a search like this: site:spiralknights.com "Cerberus Squad"
The "site:" prefix (...) defines what page Google will search on, and the quote marks around the name makes sure you'll only get hits with those two words placed like that (not sure if you know this already, but I'm putting it here anyway so anyone can get informed).
Search for a guild you have in mind, search for its guildmaster. Knock yourself out. You should know what you want though, weigh some pros and cons, do a little digging around, and in the end you should probably be able to make a choice you're happy with.
Your guild can be the best at _____, but it will still eventually struggle with staying active without a good community behind it. I joined my first guild on a whim after meeting one of the officers on a jelly run, and wound up staying for about a year--at the time I was actually thinking of quitting SK all together, but the tight community within the guild kept me signing on. My current guild is the same way: it's the community that keep me playing. Anyway, try to run a bit with members of the guild before joining, get a sense of whether you feel like they would be a good fit for you, that's my advice.
Can someone recommend a guild? I'm in one currently that supposedly screens its recruits, but one of my own guildies almost got me killed by being unapologetically reckless recently, so I'm kinda shopping around.
Here's my deal. I almost never do PvP. I'm no good at it, so it's not worth the time and entry fee to me. I'd rather be doing missions, gaining rank, or farming crowns. I'm not a kamikaze player. I carefully play through levels defensively with the goal of actually getting through without a scratch (which I often do while soloing). I'm at the point where I'm tired of reviving reckless players, so now I'm pretty much planning to leave them dead. I'm all for team tactics while I play, though I'm still pretty new, so I have a bit to (gladly) learn. I'm currently rank 5(-2?) working on building a 3* set. Despite having a bad attitude towards kamikazes, beggars, and hustlers, I'm a pretty sociable guy and would likely often hang out in a guild hall or wherever just to chat if I'm out of energy. Nobody hangs out in my current guild hall, so for down time, I'm usually by the AH heckling the beggars and hustlers. I try to play every day, if only to use my mist (I use CE rather conservatively right now), but I also work six days a week, so some days just don't happen. Have I missed any other important details?
I chose my guild because I had some good friends in it. :)
The main thing I looked for in a guild was how the people treated each other and everyone loves each other and has each other's backs.
We joined mostly for the social aspect, but also just to have fun! I joined about a week after I started playing Spiral Knights and I've made so many friends and got pretty far!
I hope this helped~
I didn't choose Njthuglife, Njthuglife chose me.
There are some special conditions that guild have for their candidates like atleast T2 or T3 etc.Since you're T2 so try to join a T2 guild but don't expect alot of high-end players to be there doin Vana runs.
I am currently in Dark Guardians, the girl above me was its Guild Master but the whole guild went up in flames after she left. But we are coming back, unfortunately its a T3 guild so you won't be able to join but there are many more who will be happy to have with them.
If i we're you I'd join a Guild thats Open to all Groups, and Likes to do Runs, and Missions together those tend to be the Better guilds for normal Players
Focus on Guilds that Acept everyone is what i think, there just... Nice to everyone :D
