So I was in the clockworks, derping around in an arena with my deadly shard bomb and ash of agni. One guy in the party inspects me, looks at my bomb and says how it's useless. Simply because it is normal.
I'm alright with that, normal isn't the best. HOWEVER.
We were in an arena with gremlins and all he does is fire his polaris, clip after clip.
This isn't the first time something like this has happened to me. It depresses me.
And here I am, walking into the advanced training hall with my newly crafted iron slug, and one of the players in there comes up to me and we have this big conversation on how great normal damage weapons are as we compare our spurs,pepperboxes,and troikas. Why can't more people accept our normal damage weapons? Are they jealous because we are playing the game on hardmode and doing great with them while they are pew-pewing with their specialized damage weapons?

Know what else is credit to team? Plenty of normal damage weapons.
Troika charges, they smash, they do a lot of damage. Ever since the explosion was added on the charge, it's been a VERY viable choice, especially if there's someone in the party with a Vortex. Pepperbox is very effective, too, as is Nitronome.
Deadly Shard Bomb and Iron Slug, of course, would get more flak because the Shard Bomb and Magnus weapon types in general are kinda meh, at least when used alone. (Not that Iron Slug can't be a force to be reckoned with in the right hands.) Shard Bombs in particular rely on Specialized Damage to hit much at all; their base damage is lower than other bombs, and Specialized Damage bonuses are linear across all weapon types (adding the same amount of damage to a single uncharged Plague Needle bullet as they do to a Divine Avenger's charge attack swing). Not that I'd be the one giving these weapons flak; I'm a bomber with two 5* swords, both of which cost me no energy. (Unless you count the revives in my first T3 OCH run... whew, that was ugly.)
Well, honestly I fear polaris spam is more effective, even if gremlins resist elemental :P
1 shard is stronger than 1 bullet. But bullets are faster.
This particular normal weapon is crap.
@Doctorspacebar I know about the power of troika and volcanic pepperbox; I have them. Along with basically every weapon in this game that gets flak for being UP (sans the specialised shard bombs). It perplexes me to this day why pepperbox isn't considered good by most players.

Pepperbox has a crazy awesome charge, I'm sick of people comparing it and saying "Ermagerd y u no make Blitz" because they're vastly different styles of weapons (One has wicked knockback, and can flatten turrets and other large constructs/jellies)
Windmillion is late on my "Weapons to Craft" list, is it good? If so I might make one after my Slug, BAB and Neutralizer.
Only pros can use normal damage weapon effectively...

But i get told to stop using my charge attacks by people who spam polaris because they have too much knockback, isnt that ironic ? Needless to say i dont stop, and i send a few slags flying their way to scratch their face for for being soo silly over what im using.

I have all those weapons you are planning to make, and I would advise you to get the winmillion before the BAB. Unless you REALLY love bombs, the BAB is quite often a pain, even with max ctr. Winmillion is quite fun to use, and it has a surprisingly high 'staggering power'. It also has a rather speedy combo, though for some odd reason the gaps between swings can be huge (if you want to repeatedly use the first swing the delay time is slower than a sealed sword strike).

Sure, that'd be great. And I don't have a particular bias towards bombs, however I am a hybrid, and I always tote one of each weapon (for a long time it has been Suda + VPB + VT, as a crowd control + slow mover combo, but recently I've swapped out the VT for a Stagger Storm, and am using my gun slot to heat my 3* Magnus and Catalyzer and my 4* Pulsar)
For bombs, I've got a VT, VV, and SS, I also have a Heavy Decon (Construct High UV :3 It outdamages a non-boosted Nitronome) but I really like how the BAB works. That huge BOOM has just got to be fun. I recently got a FoV which I'm using for FSC because I tote a ridiculous amount of fire defence there. I plan on getting it either a CTR low or a Med/High damage bonus against a family, hopefully undead. I don't like to invest in expensive UVs, I only spend enough on UVs to make a weapon partially viable.
I doubt the BAB is as difficult as you say, I spam both Suda and VPB charges a lot (I have no ASI) so I'm used to being slow and clumsy. I do have a 4* Grav but i haven't got around to heating it yet.
Further down the line there's just the WHB and the DVS, I think.
BAB makes you move a LOT slower than Suda and takes about twice as long to charge.
Suda and Pepperbox charges cause you to stand nearly completely still ^^
Crafting Bombastic set(got suit with freeze high, stun low, curse low).
