This is, an attempt at, a guide of how to make money in the World of Spiral Knights.
This is where you can put any ideas you have that lead to the acquisition of Crowns or Crystal Energy (which can be turned into Crowns).
You can suggest a single over-arching method i.e. running Boss levels and purchase and vendoring the weapons bought by their Tokens, or something more specific i.e. Running Snarbolax and Vendoring his Token equipment. And the specific suggestion can be specific i.e. Running Snarbolax and unbinding and Auctioning his Token equipment, Running Snarbolax and unbinding and selling his Token equipment.
Anything and everything goes. And by everything, I mean everything
Here's some basic tips:
1) Your Daily Mist can be used on almost everything as a CE discount. As a prime example, you can use your Mist to take up to 100CE off the cost of a 2* Unbind from the Gremlin Vise, taking the total CE cost for unbinding a 2* piece of equipment down to 100CE. OF course, you will use up your Mist, so make sure that there isn't anything else you wanted to do with it beforehand.
Trading
This will not grant you immediate Crown or Crystal Energy wealth. Rather it would allow you to convert one of your items into another item. This item may be more valuable than the other.
Trading materials
Simple as is. Offering an amount of one material you don't need/want for an amount of a material you do need/want.
Trading Shards
Trading an amount of Shards of one colour for an amount of another i.e. 3 yellow Shards for 1 blue Shard, or, 5 yellow Shards for 2 blue Shards.
Selling
Under construction.
Minerals
Mineral Grinding
Make a party of 4 with all getting the largest Crystals you can. At the elevator all Crystals are shared (ex. if everybody gets 4 Large crystals, that a total of 12 crystals for you). Then head to the Aracde and sell them for a small profit.
Note: Not recommended as your go-to plan. Why? The Crowns that come from selling Crystals are too low to sustain. Support your income? Yes. Being your main source of income? No.
Krogmo's Coliseum
Lockdown Grinding 1.0
Grinding Lockdown for the tokens. After enough tokens, buy Mod Calibrators and sell in Auction House.
Lockdown Grinding 1.1
Instead of buying Mod Cals, buy Enamrocks and sell in AH.
Lockdown Grinding 2.0
Instead of selling the Items directly, save them up and make one of the many Trinkets available from the Krogmo Alchemy Machine.
Blast Network Grinding 1.0, 1.1, 2.0
Same as Lockdown Grinding, but with Blast Network.
Ragecraft!
This is where you spend your daily mist on mindlessly crafting any two 2* pieces of equipment. The intention of this is not to make a profit, but rather to acquire a UV(s). If it's a good one (Attack Strength Increase) or one that supports a piece of equipment (Charge Time Reduction on a Autogun) then it will sell for a lot more than what it would have. The amount of Crowns you will get will depend heavily on the UV you get and what piece of equipment you get it on. Some are considered worthless on one piece of Armor, but will increase the value heavily on another piece.
In the end, it all boils down to luck.
However, I am currently compiling a list of what UV's are worth on which pieces of Equipment, compared to their non-UVed equivalents. Once I have collected enough data I will release my findings.
Running Boss levels for Crowns
Simple as is. If you wish to collect the Crowns from a profitable boss level, usually the first two, but do not consider yourself capable enough to deafeat the respective boss, you can either access the boss level directly from the Mission Tab, or just run through the Arcade; well, you're not going to be fighting the boss, so why not?
Running Boss levels for Tokens
Also simple as is. If you just want the Boss then it is preferable to do so from the Mission tab. No running through the Arcade for you.
Running Snarbolax for Tokens
Since each piece of Snarby gear is worth 10 Tokens and you get 3 Tokens per run, it's going to take you some time to vendor those 2* equipment for the 750Cr they are worth. Of course, if you can unbind them you might be able to find a buyer who's willing to pay more than the 200 Energy needed to unbind the items. Maybe.
Or you can just find a 3* Snarbolax Recipe (Twisted Snarble Barb, Twisted Targe, Twisted Spine Cone) and create the 3* equipment and sell that. Make sure that you have unbinded the previous 2* Snarby Equipment or you'll have to pay 600CE to unbind the 3* Equipment.
(Not reccomended if you are capable of farming the Royal Jelly since the 3* Jelly equipment you get is worth a lot more for just a few more Jelly runs.)
Running Roarmulus Twins for Tokens
We need a guide like this, so that whenever someone starts a new thread on this topic (which happens all of the time) we can simply point them to a polished answer. So keep going. Go go go!
(The forums are littered with people's attempts to make guides. Very few of them ever succeed, because it takes a lot of work, and people give up. But please keep trying.)
