A question about ranking up

This might, and likely is, be an obvious question.

While playing through the RANKS section of missions you eventually get to 'Time to get Crafty', which has you attempt to create Hot Edge and the Frost Gun with an Alchemy Station; since the Alchemy Stations require crystal energy, does this mean I cannot progress any further in the game due to this?

If so, what else can I do, the Arcade?

My apologies if this is an obvious question, I am trying to be sure that my conclusion that the Arcade is all that is left is correct or to find out I am incorrect. Thanks for any assistance with the question.

Mist energy works as well.

._. You can buy CE for CR. Click on the CE tab, and go to market.

And dude, if you do take an interest in the arcade, lemme tell you, you need to do the missions as well to ascess T2 and T3.

I also now respect you.

BTW:

Arcade has a more random level, not just shwocasing certain ones. Minerals alter a created gate.

Every new gate is created within two days. A gate has a lifespan of 8.

There are Cr costs for doing a Gate if you've haven't done the previous tier.

T2: 200
T3:600

Gear:

T1=0/1(automaticly unlocked)
T2=2/3(if you've done the Hall of heroes for either, all of T2 CW is unlocked)
T3=4/5(Same thing)

@Tohru-Adachi, I'm pretty sure T3 is 500 cr not 600.

Time to get crafty

The one thing I don't understand is why do you keep the items your donating?

Correct me if i'm wrong but I recall alchemy machines taking mist energy. If your CE counter displays 0 and you have mist, couldn't you use the mist instead? After all, you are crafting 1 star equipment.

Edit: Bopp answered my second question.

Thanks for the responses; I

Thanks for the responses; I didn't notice the option to spend 7K+ in crowns for CE, my bad.

However, none of them are opting for Mist Energy (as Bopp stated), only offering the purchase of CE, or trading crowns for CE with the Transmute selection unclickable.

I don't understand whether you understand yet.

I don't understand your most recent post. In case you don't understand...

When you use energy in Spiral Knights --- whether for elevators, or crafting, or reviving, or whatever --- you can use either mist energy (ME) or crystal energy (CE). Your ME is always used first, before your CE is touched. For example, suppose that you want to craft a 3-star item, which requires 200 energy, and you have 42 ME and 300 CE. Then the alchemy machine will use 42 ME and 158 CE, leaving you with 0 ME and 142 CE.

In your case, you are crafting 1-star items, which cost only 10 energy to make. If you have 20 ME, then you should be able to make both of them, without ever buying any CE.

Actually I made a mistake, I

Actually I made a mistake, I didn't notice that I did not have all the materials needed.

I have one more question for this specific ...quest? When I finally did get everything needed and created the weapons, the game wouldn't allow me to hit the start button (as if I never created them); when I claimed them (making it so they could not be traded or etc [I do not remember specifics, my apologies]) the game still would not show the start button. I didn't notice it until I had claimed the second item, but both items were highlighted when completed.

So what gives? Why wouldn't I even hit the start button to have the items to have them inspected, does this go back to energy (I had gone down to only 7 mist energy after getting everything done).

not sure

I'm not sure what was happening there. Something in the following process failed.

To craft an item, you must buy or find its recipe, and then learn the recipe. You have to gather the materials, crowns, and energy specified by the recipe. You take all of this stuff to an alchemy machine, and craft the item. Once it's crafted, it should show up in your Arsenal.

Once you have the item in your Arsenal, you should be able to start the mission. Make sure the item is not equipped when you start the mission.

You need to craft both of the weapons, and then your good to good. Otherwise, I'll supply you the weapons you need for free.

Issue Fixed

"Make sure the item is not equipped when you start the mission."
I think this was actually the issue since I equipped the Frost Gun.

Thanks for all of your help, Bopp! I'll try to keep all of this in mind as I play.
