Having not visited Clockworks for a while and being full of gears to heat I decided to make a few Jelly King Runs today. I've played this game a very long time and always found that Iron Lockboxes were pretty difficult to obtain. This is my 8th run and I've obtained nearly one Lockbox per run so far. The only difference between those runs and my usual runs is the fact that I have gears to heat. Anyone ever noticed some similar behaviour when heating items? I can't help wondering.

There a rumoured link between the amount of lockboxes opened and silver keys owned and the chance to obtain a lockbox via the elevator roll (and someone even tried to confirm this using naughty methods)
Testing for other causes for lockbox rolls has not been conducted.

Now that you mention, I've

Now that you mention, I've opened no less than 70 Lockboxes last week. That'd be the explanation; I've obtained another half dozen in not even 10 more runs. I honestly think at this stage it's not only a rumor but an actual feature.

If you had opened Iron Lockboxes before your expedition, then that's the reason. It was un-officially ( Or was it official? ) confirmed that when you open Iron Lockboxes more often, the Prize Wheel will give you more Boxes in a corresponding way.

Other than that, I don't know.

Sorry!
