Greetings fellow knights!

So as we all know, the Spiral Knights anniversary is coming up on April 4th!

To celebrate, I'd like to have a quick and simple giveaway as well as spread a little love to the Three Rings team that created this game.

So here's how this works! All you have to do, is leave a reply here with what you love about Spiral Knights! Maybe it's a feature, maybe it's a part of the community, but whatever it is I'm sure the folks down at Three Rings would love to hear it! Just a simple post will get you entered to win a CE prize!

Prizes are the following.
1,000 CE to one lucky winner
500 CE to two lucky winners
100 CE to ten winners
*Prizes will change as I gain more funding*

Winners will be chosen at random. There is no judging, just random dice rolls.

Winners will be drawn and mailed their prizes at 10:00 PM on April 4th!

So I suppose I shall start off with my Spiral Knights Adventure...

When I first joined this game on April 21st 2011, I was immediately impressed by the unique art style of the game. As I continued through the Crash Site and Rescue Camp I watched the scenery and played around with the enemies to see how they behaved. Before long I reached Haven, I saw many players but a Vog or Skolver was rare as the game was pretty new. Several Groundbreakers roamed haven as beta players were very common in that first month. Was a little disappointed that I missed beta by only a week but that didn't stop me from having fun. In the day there was no Auction house and no missions. I use to walk around the Bazaar and Arcade and find players to do random party runs with. At the time Royal Jelly was a real pain to fight but we managed to take it down a few times. As a new player I felt very welcomed and had a lot of fun with the game and it became a favorite time passer when I was bored. So a bit later in the future, after I've been in-game a while I had owned a guild, some may remember as . I had about 40-70 Members (I don't actually remember!) With about 10-20 online at a single time. We were a small prestigious little group who focused not at all on gear but on personality. This little group of people to socialize with got me into the game a lot more and I began playing every day just to meet up with the friends I made. Eventually the guild fell apart and we all went our ways, I roamed guildless for several months and started to become an inactive player again. I'd log in every day but I didn't do much when I did (I wont even begin to tell you the kind of guild invites I got). Eventually Spiral Knights introduced the Test Server. Excited to join in on a new feature in development I got myself access and logged into Test World under the name "Jupiter". To my surprise people kept assuming I was a GM, when I was not and never was. In this test I ran across a few knights of the guild Jempire. It was close to the end of the test so I walked up and said hello to the knights I never met before. After having a wacky conversation with them the test server closed and I went about my business. After about a week I decided to look into their guild a bit more, and ended up applying and well, now I've been a happy member of Jempire for over a year. So now into more recently, I've collected many costumes and rare items including the elusive Darkfang Shield, I've got a maxed out friend list I have to clean up, and I still enjoy my back to basics Arcade runs like the good 'ol days. I've been a Knight for quite a long while. I've seen this game grow up and I am proud to have been here for as long as I have. I think if I had to pick a favorite thing about the game, it would have to just be the game itself. The experiences I earned and friends I met are things I wouldn't trade for the world. So to the folks down at Three Rings, thank you for developing an awesome game! You made a difference to this player, and I look forward to the years to come!

So, Knights, how about you all? What is your Spiral Knights Adventure? What is your favorite part of this game? Leave it in a reply for your chance at some free CE and to say thank you to the developers and staff who make this game possible!

Hmph

I love the new Danger Missions adding Bosses to the game, and I hope for more in the future leading up to Battle Sprites and beyond.

MMMH Good one Gzilla, if I had to pick a fave it'd be Whitespace Swarm XD

Here Go's

I love the music of the game, gives me a sense of nostalgia, while giving me something new, I love where Harry Mack took the soundtrack. Another thing I like is the fact that the game is built to look like older games. I thought Four Swords adventures when I first went through the crash site. The community back then when I first joined was kind and open. The forum community was on par with that, if not more accepting. The team at OOO did a phenomenal job with the game, and while we, the community haven't always seen eye to eye with them, I can at least take pleasure in the fact that they want the game to grow and improve just if not more then we do, keep it up.

What I loved about this game

What I loved about this game was the clockworks. There was lots of diversity inside it. I loved it when a new gate came out which would then yield new adventures for me and my friends. Especially for when I had not yet encountered all the monsters in the game. I can still sometimes do this, but not as much before the mission system came out. Nevertheless, it is still my favorite part of SK!

Yeah

I love the art style, and the game's world and lore. Its all so cute, yet serious in a certain way. The music is amazing too, one of my favorites is the haven theme, since it starts as a cheerful calm music, but then changes to a more grim-esque tone, as a reminder that the knights are stranded in that planet, and won't see their homeplanet for a long time, maybe never again, and then it goes back to a more cheerful tone again. I also like how friendly the GM's are, and how they interact with the community.

Giveaway? I Approve!

This game has been quite a surprise for me. I originally came into this game just looking for the hat for TF2, but something about it kept me playing even after the hat. I've advanced throught the ranks of SK slowly but surely, with thanks to my helpful and awesome guild,Kage No Senshi, and eventually becoming a Vanguard. With each update, this game entrances me further and further with its unique array of enemies (Damned Devilites) and awesomely-designed levels (Not the Keep! Anything but the Keep!). If I had to pick one thing that I like about SK the most though, it would definitely be... my guild. They've always supported me, even through the multiple crises.

Onward to Adventure!

The thing that I love most

The thing that I love most would be the community.

What I mean is my little community of friends that I've known since beta. They are a fun bunch and I'm glad I still talk to them on a nearly daily basis. Oddly enough, I can never seem to find a game that has the unique community that the games OOO makes tend to have. (Another example would be Whirled.)

Anyways, yeah.

The papaya smiles

Perhaps its not very smart/nice of me to repeat what Cobalt (above me ^^) has already said. But I agree with him ^^ In my opinion, the aim of the game, the sounds, the graphics, all of that, doesn't really matter at all.............

The community are the pillars of the game, the pieces in a chess set, the juice in a papaya. Spiral Knights is the first game I've come across that has people who just........well........co-exist well ^^ We laugh together, play together, say-random-stuff-about-papayas together, you name it ^^. I also like how the GM's always throw in a little surprise for the community every now and then ^^. Like Hyperion's joke about Termites and breakfast, I'll type it down for old times sake ^^
"What do Termites have for breakfast?"
"Oakmeal!"
(Sorry Oatmonster ^^, but clearly termites like oak better :P)

Forums, forums, forums........... I bet a papaya that you can't find another gaming forum as active and friendly (and random :P) as this one!

Of course, the design of the game still matters a *tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny* bit, but it wouldn't exist, without the players,
without the fans, all of you ^^

I love the gameplay

While the music, artwork, and all that jazz is great, I really just love the sort of hack and slash feel of the game. I love just threading around the various enemies while trying to get hits in, especially with turrets firing everywhere and the such. Different types of enemies spawning, all trying to attack you at their various speeds and styles is just awesome, especially when you defeat them all unscathed (which can be rather rare for me). It's just a pretty fun game.

None of you can probably remember me.

I've been away from SK for 2 months because of computer breaking, school and other stuff but I've still watched over these forums and its been weird, but I just love the spiral knights community,I still want to play this game,I just need to convince my mom to get me a laptop, I also have a thought,I'm thinking of quitting , but at the same time I don't want to,it's been about a year and a half since I started ,I've devoted at least $20 into this game, I love this community too much to quit,I love the style of the game and OOO is one of my favourite company's just cause this game, I'm super excited for the upcoming so called "uber update" and I just cannot quit, Kuger is one of the most generous people in SK and one of the only ones I can remember,I also remember artistbma, dreathruxy, rommil, pawn, and I think that's it... I enjoy this game even though I haven't played it in ages and my reason why I love spiral knights, is the ever-changing community, the game , OOO, Everything.....
PS:if none of you remember me,I'm the guy who won kugers alt challenge in 2-3 days or so

Well...

I've been here for as long as I can remember. There were fun experiences, difficult experiences, enjoyable ones and disappointing ones. One thing I
love about the community is the persistence of it-- be it necro-ing(lol). To be honest, sometimes I think the game is getting rusty, but I just keep grinding so the energy won't go to waste and push away the thought. I've had enough happiness in this game to begin with, and I even tried to persuade my RL friends to play SK, just so I could have new friends to talk to about my experiences in the game :D. I miss the energy surges, elevator discounts, even the ones I missed out on.

And since the Guild Update, I was uber happy when it happened. I caroused inside the GHs and explored all possible joys that they added.

Lag is still part of the game, and its also the things I like about SK. It's the boundary that separates me from success, motivating me more to power through the never-ending plague.

To OOO, I'd want to say: Thank you for bringing SK to the world.

***

Although, now that I think of my answer, it feels like I just submitted an answer to QotD, Kuger XD

I sense a 1st April fools here... Oh well.

My True Love, Amour et Fidélité.

The light turns up and dark fades away
And all the balance, isn't here and there
My dreams won't come, won't come ever true
I'm glad I stayed
I'm glad I stayed

This game cast a spell on me spell on me.
It hit me like Cradle fell on me fell on me.
And I decided it look well for me well for me.
So I downloaded it and start playin' start playin'

Let the grind start now
Now I'll take my gun
Gun the crap out
Out of the monsters
Monsters is slippin' away so we'd better stay
Stay by my side
Mah side will make you safe

The light turns up and dark fades away
And all the balance, isn't here and there
My dreams won't come, won't come ever true
I'm glad I stayed
I'm glad I stayed

Got the idea from the song "Glad You Came" from the "The Wanted" band. So when you read this, read it in the rhyme of that song.

I completely agree with you,

I completely agree with you, Kuger. As soon as I joined, at the crash site, I looked around and thought that the game was a huge world. The art made it seem that way. When I got to Haven, it felt like a huge city. I do miss the old double doors however, but this new archway is pretty fancy. The Clockworks were dazzling. I loved the detail put into some of the monsters, from the little gel drops inside a lichen to the insignia on Vanaduke's back. But overall, my favorite piece of art in Spiral Knights is the Snarbolax. It looks so fearsome, so evil. Oh and do I need to mention that I've described what it looks like it written work about two-hundred-million times? Because its easy to describe it. Because of all the detail put into the creature, making it one of the first COMPLETE EPICNESS parts of the game.

Bad luck at giveaways, but anyway...

The gameplay is fantastic, the artwork is wonderful, it's energy system is the one of it's kind, the monsters are unique, and it's plain fun to play. Also, if I understand, only 13 people will win? K.

When I first started the game I found a flow of music and warm characters and designs which seemed to be a natural fit for me. I had never found the rythym I discovered in SK in any other MMORPGs. The teamwork, and the overall friendliness of the SK gaming community just made me love the game. It wasn't boring like other games, to take down a monster, you had to outsmart the AI, and sometimes that's pretty hard when you first start out... unlike other games killing a monster didn't just involve clicking on one and designating attack, you could use a whole mixture of guns, swords, and bombs. Then they made it better, they added a general storyline, Shadow Lairs, and Lockdown. Now they're going to completely upgrade the UI and graphics, and even add a new tier 3 boss. All I gotta say is that I was already content with SK as a game when we only had the arcade, they really have advanced the game beyond my imagination.

When you hang around the forums like we do, it's hard not to see all the complaining about Spiral Knights. So why should I even come back to the game?

The Charm.

When I first heard that music, when I first walked around the world of SK, I fell in love with it. Whether it was the art, the monsters, the idea, or whatever, it was just plain spectacular. SK has, to me, the best chat system of any mmo I've seen! In other mmo's, I can completely miss conversations happening, but here, it draws me in. Takes chatting to a whole new level. As I said, it's just charming.

SK is no mere game, let's just get that point out...

I barely remember when I first began playing Spiral Knights, but I honestly can say, it's not just a game, and it's not just another MMO, it's very different. From what I've seen, I believe it's very true that most of us here agree upon one major thing, that SK is a community, a collective of people that have found a home in SK's cute little graphics. Friendships are forged and bonds are created, the game goes beyond just what it seems on the outside. I have found lots of new friends here and created stronger ties with the ones I already have, SK is truly an amazingly crafted game :D
