A new FSC loadout?

Every thread begins the same, some guy asks for help with FSC, some guy tells him vog.

Well, No more!

I got a (debatably) better idea!

The (almost) perfect FSC loadout.

Divine Veil

and...

Armor of the Fallen

Why this combination? Well, I'll show you!

A little bit of normal defence,
A wee bit of Elemental Defence,
LOTS of shadow defence.

Excellent fire resistance,
ASI low,

And the medium fiend bonus from the veil, and the penalty from the armor cancel each other out.

So, what do ya' think? Is this a good FSC setup?

But, more importantly, is it creative, because personally, I have never heard this setup suggested by anyone.

A few other non-important details is that it would also have some poison and shock resist, also the veil cancels out the curse weakness on the armor.

sorry, but

This kind of thing has been suggested many times. Soon, someone will point out that the hard part of FSC (depth 28) is loaded with normal damage. Oops.

Dammit.

:(

But!

But!

But!

What if you don't do Depth 28, hmm?

I just really want a setup that no one really uses and isnt a vog cub.

Then you're missing out on

Then you're missing out on roughly 3000 crowns per boss fight.

Hmph

I guess I could swap the armor for the Valkyrie Mail and have a decent fiend-slaying setup.

Oh well, just wanted to be different...

Divine/Fallen was my first 5* set for FSC, it was alright, for the boss too. But that's because I already wasn't using wolver line to begin with... usually people are, so vog is a good choice there.

meep

lots of shadow defense sounds to me like you get hit by zombies a lot. as opposed to focusing so much on the armor type to get through it, maybe you want to try out some shielding maneuvers? i noticed that you didnt mention what kind of shield you use, but it doesnt really matter for maneuvers (even swiftstrike will work). shield bumping and shield tapping can get tons of enemies away from you. turning off auto aim, not spamming combos and instead spamming first hit, shield cancel, first hit, shield cancel on any sword will keep your risks down and your safety up. shield cancel + flanking means that zombies will be more likely to win the lottery than hitting you again, just watch out for the occasional breath attacks.

btw, the optimal set nowadays is chaos thanks to being so OP.

*cough* chaos *cough*
/think uh well it's now sadly one of the main stream since the update...not as main stream as Vog Cub but still...
/think Chaos was cool not many people used it before the update...*cough*

Okay, lemme point out that Depth 28 is full of Elemental and Normal damage sources. *wink* While zombies are easy to dodge, the elemental damage sources in Depth 28 are not as easy as zombies or trojans to dodge. Also do not forget that the explosive jellies deal pure normal. Well, they themselves are not a big threaten but I always forget about the existence of the remaining bombs and get hit often stupidly.
Also it is a big waste to not eat Vanana in Depth 28. You spent 40 energy to get to the elevator right? Why would you skip the best place to get money then? If you just eat Vanana, you can get 3k crowns or more, moreover, the boxes may give you a gear drop which could be hundred thousands if it's the gear is 5*? You just have to eat Vanana, which would not take more than 3 mins with a decent team, and also Vanana is very delicious!

*wink* *wink*

Just for clarification.

I actually use Vog for Vana runs anyway, I was just trying to see if there was another setup that was better, or at least viable.
It would seem that there is not.

Guess I'll give Volcanic Plate a try...

Chaos is far better.

My setup

I used Volcanic Plate mail and Divine Veil (my only 5* gear, to be honest). It's a decent setup; you get a lot of Elemental defense, a sizable amount of normal, and reasonable shadow, with what might be the same fire resist as full Vog? You get ASD low, but lighter swords and most guns shouldn't get too hurt by that.

@Toah

Being able to charge your weapon in one second and killing everything in one shot is very defensive. You can't get hurt by things that are dead.

I do it in salamander and seraphic. people run away scared from me as they see me, but whatever. I don0t want to craft another line. I'll do it only for snarby coat.

Maybe it would be decent for

Maybe it would be decent for a FSC newbie, with some sort of a plate shield? But i use Vog coat+ seerus, personally. Vana deals mostly normal and some elemental, and slags are somewhat slow.

boop

Just run it in skoalver the damage bonus is enough to kill everything with a glacius before getting hit, but bring a DVS for the mask.
