Hey. I’m Korakc, and I’m aggravated with the forum set-up. There are major flaws with it, and I’m pretty sure most veteran forum users will agree. This is not a complete version, this is a suggestion on what we need in our forum. There will be optional changes and changes we must have. There is no problem with Drupal, it just doesn’t hit the nail right on the head. If you want, post your opinion. Alright, let’s get started:

Major Additions
Starting off here with a list: Search bar, user page, personal messaging, post and thread tracker, videos, and pictures. That covers most of the must haves. I’ll knock them out one by one on details for them.

Search Bar
As many people know, Spiral Knights’ forum search bar is broken, meaning you have to use Google. This is a fix we need, as new forum users are creating threads about new things that have been suggested many times. I’m aware that a few threads concerning a new forum already exist, but I wanted to create one with a lot more details. When you search a phrase or sentence, results with the most matching words will show.

User Page
On the forums, if you don’t know much about someone then you can’t find out about them at all. A user page would contain how long the player has been a knight, play hours, their posts and threads, possibly groups, screenshot folders, and a wall you can comment on. I’ve tried Steam, and it has quite a bit of those things, but only 60+ or – percent of the Spiral Knights community use Steam. The wall would be good for casual discussion and making plans for runs. There would also be a short bio part of the page, which would be optional.

Personal Messaging
Yay, personal messaging! =] Instead of mailing someone who may not play anymore, doesn’t check the game often, or can’t get on at the time, you could send them a private message on the forums. Bazaar trades could be so much easier with this.
Post and Thread Tracker
Sometimes people may forget their threads. *Looks down* I have started one, done other things for an hour, and totally forgotten about it. A thread tracker could have all of your threads in one place, so you could check on all of them at once. Post trackers would help with bazaar deals and talking with others. For instance, I posted a bid of 6900 crowns on something, and a day or two later I could easily check the thread to see if anyone has outbid me.

Pictures and Videos
The only way you can post one of these is by linking it. It’d be nice to have it so that we can have a new command, *insert url here. There would be a forum page, and you could insert that or another command to have a picture right on the page. Certain sized pictures wouldn’t be allowed, something irrational like 1000x800. All sizes bigger would be sized down to 400x400, 400x200, etc. Videos would play either automatically or when you hover over them, etc.
That covers the important parts. I’ll just skim over the optional parts ;D Signatures(Art at the bottom of your post, always sized 400x200 or smaller), Reputation(Add reputation to a player for doing something helpful, certain times of being a knight lets you red rep. Has caps to how much you can rep per day [5 times, 1 per person or something, 3 times for red]), Titles(Certain amounts of Rep and Posts give you new titles. Also links to your knight’s rank: Defender, Defender Elite, Vanguard, Knight, Champion, Apprentice.) That’s all I have to think of at the moment.
