1: Add a follow option like a +1 and a book mark so its easier to find threads you like
2: an ignore button for the people that make those snude remarks that make people want to just... urg it pains me
3: forum signature to add that bit of extra bit of personalization to peoples forum posts
4: I belive personal messaging has been suggested before but for good measure that would be nice aswell

Someone did contribute an ignore function for these Spiral Knights forums if you'd care to sniff around for it
I don't think Drupal is capable of that. They should really convert the forums to something better, like vBulletin.
