i'm not suggesting they be changed, but the Cutter series kind of looks like it would do piercing instead of normal... maybe i'm just crazy
Normal damage cutters?
Where pots can be thrown farther than a handgun can shoot.
Where a glass vial can hit a bullet, destroy it, and stay intact and keep going.
Where you can set a bomb that somehow distinguishes between friend and foe AND can explode infinite times without being destroyed.
Where swords are somehow more effective weapons than guns.
Where one cut straight through a monster does not kill it.
Where Jellies are not only a delicious dessert, but also a terrifying enemy made of pure hatred and vitriol.
^, just look at these teeth. They also need a DPS buff.
cutters are fine as they are. they can be usefun in practically any situation if you know how to use them. my WHB was awesome it repelling slimes (now using blackhawk). ok, I practically use WHB for trojans and beasts, but I think that changing damage type would be a nerf.
I think changing the damage type of cutters would be a pretty substantial buff to them, and as such welcome it. However, don't make both piercing. I love using DVS on lumbers! Maybe make WHB piercing and DVS shadow? Not like we have an abundancy of shadow and piercing weapons here.
Where a Leviathan Blade is faster than a Sealed Sword
I recently made a thread talking about what they could do to buff them and why (didn't get much attention), and some people just think it should be stun instead of uv vs beasts (since you can use the flourish lines more efficiently against them).
Piercing swords ostensibly inflict puncture wounds. But the first stroke of a piercing sword is more of a slicing motion, and hence should make a cut, rather than a puncture. Is a clean cut "normal" or "piercing" damage? Who knows.
To me, the Cutters do a slicing motion with a jagged edge, and hence should make some kind of laceration --- a messy tear, rather than a clean cut or a puncture. Is laceration "normal"?
Not to be a downer, but there are plenty of aspects of the game that make even less sense than what you're asking about.
