Hi! I recently came up with a new idea for how to sneak in a few new bosses and revive the Arcade. Before I get started, I'll get this straight: This doesn't involve opening the core. This involves some new sets of levels, enemies, and equips. These could bosses, or Core Guardians, could be considered "Sub-Bosses" because they adhere to their stratum's status and each boss has only one level to go with it. This level is ALWAYS at depth 28. This is intended as pure endgame content.

Anything that looks like this has been recently updated.

For now, I'll list down the basics:

  • Location in the Arcade: it's paired with one or more non-Guardian levels at D28, with the particular level being chosen at random. (Same as for Graveyard/Treasure Vault depths) If it's in a monster family stratum, it will be the boss of a matching family with a random status. If it's a status stratum, it's a random boss with that stratum. (I.e. a Fiend stratum could be Shocking Fiend or Freezing Fiend, and a Shock stratum could be Shocking Fiend or Shocking Gremlin.) Two out of four gates will have Guardians in them.
  • Number of bosses: 7 (One for each familly + a neutral boss)
  • Difficulty: Between FSC and Danger Missions...maybe Shadow Lairs
  • Equipment requirements: 20-30 tokens of the respective boss. (each boss will give 1 token upon killing) These tokens can be given to an NPC who is in the core.
  • Because the whole boss, including the enemies and such before it, is on one level, this level's payout is very high. (About thrice the amount of the second FSC level.)

Bosses!
  • Fiend Boss: Behora-Moth (Corruption of Behemoth)
  • Undead Boss: Grim Bombie (Self-reviving Bombie...sort of)
  • Gremlin Boss: Dark Step, the Ghostmane Sniper (Those Trollaris spammers will get their own medicine...)
  • Slime Boss: Green Jelly Giant (He returns!)
  • Beast Boss: Mammalisk
    • Visual Description: A Snarbolax sized Chromalisk. Has spikes along the back that go up the tail. Shock one has coils on the tail. Fire one has Fire coming from the eyes. Always drooling goop. (Ew...)
    • Token: Prismatic Scale
    • Level: Untamed Jigsaw
    • Actions and attacks:
      • Projectile Saliva: Spits out a large wad of status inflicting goop, leaving a large puddle where it lands. Travels farther than normal Chromalisk's goo. Normal damage.
      • Saliva Bombs: Spits multiple wads of status inflicting goo upward. This works like a Mortafire's attacks, but also leaves goo where it lands. Normal damage.
      • Saliva Nuke: Spits a single, giant wad of status goo upward. This works like Saliva Bombs, but there is only one with a giant AoE (Takes up two-thirds of the arena.) and leaves goo in this AoE. Normal damage.
      • Tongue Stab: Uses an attack similar to status-less Chromalisk attacks. This spans the length of the whole arena, so simply running won't dodge it. Can slowly turn as it's winding up the attack. Piercing damage and can stun.
      • Tongue Slap: Waves tongue in an arc in front of it. Has range similar to Arkus's Troika swings. Piercing damage and can stun.
      • Drool: Drools all the time, making status-dealing goop under the mouth. Standing directly in front of it will deal you its status.
      • Camouflage: Becomes invisible for a while. Usually will do this when positioning itself for a a Tongue Slap (will run up to players) or a Tongue Stab. (will run away from players)
  • Construct Boss: MK 1c (Mecha Knight 1c...1c is hexadecimal for 28)
  • Neutral Boss: Black Reflection (Swarm related)

Levels!

These are very important, too! They usually work like this:

  1. A randomly generated section
  2. A premade section
  3. The boss's arena

Untamed Jigsaw

  • Random Section: Looks something like Jigsaw Valley, but much more overgrown. Has several brambles and bushes. Has piercing and normal damage dealing Shankles, as well as the appropriate Wisp for the status. Consists of Wolvers, masses of Chromalisks (Kleptolisks, statusless types, and Status types.), some occasional Retrodes, a few Dust Bunnies (Assuming they fit.), and some occasional Lumbers.
  • Premade Section: Would look like this. (If that doesn't help, think ancient temple theme.) Some faces on the walls would shot status-dealing projectiles which are akin the a Polyp's attack. (Would shot 3 projectiles at a time.) These faces can't be defeated. Spike traps would also be common. One room would be a wave fight with several spike traps and wall faces in it, making the room harder. This room comes right before the boss. Consists of Chromalisks, Dust Bunnies, a few Polyps, a few status Slimes, a few Zombies, and a few Retrodes.
  • Boss Room: A roundish room. There are no brambles anywhere, and there are crumbling walls bordering parts of the arena. Decrepit tiles and overgrown grass blanket the floor.

That's all for now!

Equipment!

(There will be somethings which have more than one entry. These I encourage you to point out which one you prefer. Unless otherwise mentioned, everything here will give you +4 HP at levels 1 through 4, and +5 HP at levels 5 through 10.)

Prismatic Kleptolisk Suit and Mask
Many parts of it would match the wearer's personal color. Otherwise, it'd look a bit like the 3* Chroma stuff. (Except for the tongue which comes with the helmet.)

Method of obtaining: Either...

  1. 20 Prismatic Scales for each recipe. Aside from materials, this would require 4* Virulisk items to make, or
  2. 30 Prismatic Scales for each item.

Descriptions:

  • Prismatic Kleptolisk Suit:
A suit made from many different kinds of scales taken from Chromalisks. While it doesn't camouflage like the living beasts, it will change color when worn.
  • Prismatic Kloptolisk Mask:
A headpiece constructed from a variety of Chroma scales. Chromalisks from all over the planet will enjoy its cheerful colors and its elegant style.

Stats:

  • Defenses: Pure normal. (Slightly higher than the other 5* Chroma items.)
  • Resistances: 2 bars of resistance for every status. Including sleep. ;)
  • Bonuses: Damage Reduction vs Beasts: Low

That's it for now...

Plots about shadowy Spurs and MSI Greaver stuff...

mmm

ok, I want to see the story end when it comes out, because, we will not enter the core, do we? yes, depth is always the same, but, after that?

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Umm...I'm not sure how the game will end. When I say end game content, I mean this is for players who have reached the last levels of the game. Not that this will end the game. The game ends when you open the core...exactly why I've avoided that.

Dunno

Why would the game end if the Core opens? Though I think I am beating a dead horse topic with that. I mean, The Core is really big, it could perfectly have its own set of levels, and if "light is not good" maybe some spacetime distortions or something like that could generate even more levels or its own tier.

If they are depth 28+ even more so for actual Core content. It isn't a bad suggestion on paper, I want to see where this will lead, will wait for your update.

misunderstanding.

in my first post I was saying: if they are the core guardians, if we defeat them shouldn't we get in?
@Aumir: because if the core is opened and you don't want the game to end, you have to make a core's core or you have to explain why are we not going away.

Oh great...

Another person uses a suggestion that I haven't posted yet. I'm postponing my suggestions way too long.

@Thunder-The-Bright

All of these bosses are like Vanaduke in the missions: They block the path to the core. The Spiral HQ hopes that some of these routes to the core may lead to a way into the core. (Although, this would probably be wrong.)

It's not necessary that they guard the entrances to the core itself. Heck, I only called them Guardians because that was the first thing I thought up that sounded good.
