It's unobtainable and continually less will be available due to equip getting bound. So it'll be worth more than 90% of the other armor in the game eventually. (90% being the stuff you only wear as costume anyway).
The original price was also 10$ with 3500 free energy if you want to look at it that way~

To be fair these were enticing enough to get a lot of people to drop $10 on energy. Worth more than 3k CE? Probably not, at least not yet, but I could see people who actually like how it looks, and don't mind that its just a costume, using it.
I mean 90% of the armor in this game are glorified costumes anyways.
Plus this is gear you for all we know can never ever get again. Can't say that about anything else sans Beta gear at this point.
