Oh hai

So lately I've noticed a number of players (alt characters obviously) posting buy offers on trade chat on relatively rare accessories (Halos, Auras and such) at completely exagurated prices (for example, 25k CE for a Divine Halo). Now the thing is those players are not buying at all; not that I fell for the trick myself, I don't even own such items. I've noticed some similarities with one specific accessories seller, who I tried to PM to simply suggest finding the guy and selling the accessories to him, but curiously, he never went ahead finding the buyer, possibly because this fake buyer is just his own alt.
I'm posting it here because one of my friends almost felt for the trick, with money he urgently borrowed from me, having spotted the "good deal".

So there it is, really, beware of that kind of unbelievably sweet deal. They rarely are what you think!

It's a scam.

This is how it works.

Some guy "X" says by /2 WTB 2 regular ítems at normal price and a third one overpriced, like I saw last weekend this guy "YOWDUDE" and several alts. I'm not going to hide the name of a scammer.

He said by /2 WTB Red winterfest tree 20k ce EA and 2 more ítems.

In the meanwhile some "Y" player PM different merchants to trade some items, and of course in his inventory you will see that ítem, in this case a Red winterfest tree.

After he talks to you he offers to trade that ítem for the bests you have, once you accept thinking that the ítem you will sell it, both players dissapear and when the WTB guy (YOWDUDE) connected AGAIN, he just say "I already bought one Ty anyway"

I'll see if I remember the other alts, I saw too much of that past weekend.

Be sure that behind those alts there's a rich known player.

Wish i saw this ealier. This same exact thing just happened to me only involving TF2 items. Guess the offer was too good to be true.
