will the core ever open and when?
is theres a secret combination to open it? if yes, what is the combination?
is tear 4 will be real or a rumor?

1. Yes... but I think the content just isn't completed yet.
2. It'd be cool if there was a specific set of combinations to open it, for which there are subtle hints buried in the game. Somebody in a different thread claims he found a hint that suggests Stratum 1 has to be Gremlin.
3. Real! And I'm so probably going to get lynched for this suggestion, but lets have T4 phantoms also act as totems, eh? Or maybe get rid of grave mounds so you can't tell which ones will spawn zombies. (Hey, they have to make it harder, don't they?)

2. No, they won't make it openable by crafting a specific gate, as it is to easily sabotaged and a handful of trolls can ruin the enjoyment of everyone.
3. I don't know.
T4 would require creating 6* (you would presume?) considering some T3 levels are already incredibly hard in 5* gear.
But the core will open up to something, will you go further or will it be a world event and change clockworks?

We have landed in a strange planet with many monsters we are fighting them to take control of Halo =) Three Rings + Sega + Bungie will be making a new version of Halo for Spiral Knights.

Man, what would the crafting requirements even *be* for 6 star gear?
High level gear includes the previous incarnation of the equip as a requirement.
3* needs any level of 2*
4* needs level 5 of 3*
5* needs level 10 of 4*
I like to think that 6* would need two level 10 of 5*
As in, the crafting requirements for the 6* Soulless Faust would include two level 10 5* Gran Fausts.

It actually makes more sense
It actually makes more sense when they add higher Tiers to lower the requirements for the previous Tiers.
You start off in Tier 1
Tier 2 requires 2*+
Tier 3 -should- require 3*+
Tier 4 should require 4*+
Tier 5 should require 5*+
They then nerf or buff the Tiers to better fit the requirements.
Tier 5 can basically have you reaching the other side of the planet we're stationed on where there could be another town for the higher level players.

Do we think there will be 6 star gear? That would require the Core and a huge update of armor and weapons. Not saying that isn't possible but would mean a ton of work, and while it would be impressive and amazing I feel like the Core will be more of an end game top 5 star area.
I think it is more likely that the core will be a one elevator final area, consisting of more levels than T3, probably rotates floors like other clockwork areas, where there is a final boss at the end, Gremlin maybe?
Will be more difficult than T3, harder and more enemies to take on per level. Probably require some different resistances gear than we are used to.
I also foresee an expansion of 5 star gear, new styles of gear and weapons, an armory expansion of sorts.
I'd like to think it will be more of a test of skill than an increase in straight difficulty and armor status required.
but hey who knows, history tells us that going from one tier to the next requires an increase in star power, so maybe we will see 6 maybe even 7 star gear. If this is true, don't expect the Core for some time.
