Just before Calculus is the perfect time to come up with bosses. Gets the brain working. Also might get the brain distracted, but then again, might not.

Anyway, here goes!

THE TINKINZAN MECHA BRIGADE
Particularly Bulletproof Vanguard Gragor! Unusually Overpowered Grenadier Gaidoh! Obnoxiously Mobile Trooper Gelzehn! Hilariously Inept Crusher Grunmalk! Yes, you see where I'm going: this is basically your team of Knights versus four Gremlin-made humongous Mecha Knights that looked like they came straight out of some hypothetical Spiral Knights anime. They're not building-sized, but instead are about as big as the MAXIMUM SIZE GIANT LICHEN COLONY. Heh. Maximum Size Giant Lichen Colony. Sounds like one of those ridiculously long named ultimate attacks.

(Disclaimer: I got the Brigade's names from a name generator. They are subject to change, especially if something already took them.)

All four will appear at once in their (fortunately very large, to accommodate four humongous Mecha Knights and your team) arena, and you've got to hold them all off. They're all packing highly dangerous movesets (with the exception of Laughably Inept Crusher Grunmalk, who is just packing somewhat dangerous movesets) and are all constructs, making them weak to Elemental damage and resistant to Piercing Damage. Don't bring your Blitz.

Particularly Bulletproof Vanguard Gragor!
This guy. This guy right here. This guy is a tank. Except he's not literally a tank, he's a large (refer to above overview) red Mecha Knight wearing what looks like a Round Helm, except covered in the front with only one eye in the center, with a Wide Bolted Vee. He's got what looks like Ironmight Plate with heavy shoulder guards, giant metal wings on the back, and massive reinforced platelegs. His normal weapon is an oversized electrical Troika. And his shield. HIS SHIELD IS FREAKING GINORMOUS. It looks like a very wide, somewhat taller Volcanic Plate Shield with a glowing orange Gremlin logo. And yeah, it's bigger than he is.

Gragor's main purpose is to tank hits. First and foremost, Gragor has the most HP of all the bots, and also has a little more damage reduction. While his shield is up, he emits a 180-degree forward-facing Guardian field that slowly heals the other Mechas and absorbs damage done to them. If knights come close, he'll attack with his Thunder Troika for Shock/Normal damage, or shield-bump them away for massive knockback. However, his shield can break if it takes a ton of damage, and needs to regenerate like a regular Knight's shield; while his shield is broken, the Gremlin logo will flicker sporadically. Gragor can also switch weapons to a giant Iron Slug if you get too far away; the giant Callahan will charge up, then fire a four-space-wide bullet that deals nasty Normal damage. And the wings on his back? They have rockets, which lets him jump way up and then do a downward thrust with his Troika that causes nasty Normal/Shock to whoever he lands on.

Gragor's ULTIMATE ATTACK is Thundering Claymore Strike, and can only be used when he's at half health. Gragor will lift his Troika above his head, charge it up as lightning strikes it repeatedly, and then slam it on the ground for a Super-Blast-Bomb-sized Normal-damage explosion that inflicts Strong Shock; this explosion also creates a shock-wave that hits enemies a VT's radius away from the epicenter with Moderate Shock, and creates sixteen Shock/Elemental bullets in a circle from the epicenter. Ouch.

Unusually Overpowered Grenadier Gaidoh!
Two words: Grenade Spam. Gaidoh is a mechanical demolitions expert, complete with giant horned Iron Bombhead Mask and a reinforced Mercurial Demo Suit. The silver pylons on the back of the usual Mercurial Demo Suit aren't silver on Gaidoh's suit, but instead rapidly change color. Gaidoh also has metal wings on his back.

Gaidoh's basic attack pattern emulates a Gremlin Demo's charge, throwing four bombs at a target. The difference is, the bombs Gaidoh chucks have a larger radius, about double that of a Gremlin Demo's bombs, and a half-second shorter fuse time. The bombs inflict Elemental damage. Gaidoh, however, has a few more tricks.

First of all, he has a boring old Mecha Knight shield, which blocks attacks from the front; however, he can move while using it. Then there's his Charge mechanic. Gaidoh can charge up before attacks to apply an effect to his bombs; his effect increases in magnitude the longer he charges up, (there's up to three levels of charge) and has a different effect depending on what color the pylons on the back of his suit are.

If his pylons are burgundy (the same color as the Gran Faust), Gaidoh will fling one less bomb than normal- but the bombs deal Shadow Damage and affect a slightly larger radius. The first level of charge only does this; the second level adds Minor Curse to the bombs, and the third level adds Moderate Curse to the bombs.

If his pylons are red, Gaidoh will instead toss two Big Angry Bombs with Normal damage and Stun; higher charge levels increase radius, damage, and Stun chance.

If his pylons are orange, Gaidoh will throw Fire bombs that inflict Elemental damage as usual. The Fire lasts longer and does more damage per tick depending on Gaidoh's charge time.

If his pylons are yellow, Gaidoh's bombs will instead create a thorn root on the spot they're on and fire piercing Slime spines out in random directions when they explode. The number of spines increases with charge time, numbering twelve at full charge, but the spines will stop after traveling one space times charge level (for a maximum of three spaces) outside the usual bomb radius.

If his pylons are green, Gaidoh will throw Crystal Bombs. These explode into shards that continue to explode into even more shards depending on how much Gaidoh charged, and also get higher Damage and a slightly higher radius per shard with each charge point.

If his pylons are cyan, Gaidoh will throw Freezing Vaporizers that inflict moderate Freeze. Their mist duration increases with charge level, reaching up to ten seconds of ice mist! However, only three Vaporizers are thrown.

If his pylons are blue, Gaidoh will simply add raw damage to his bombs for each charge level.

If his pylons are purple, Gaidoh will throw a Graviton Vortex. Suction power of the Vortex increases as you get closer; the range of the Vortex increases with charge level, having a very weak suction on a target 16 spaces away at maximum charge. A knight trapped in Gaidoh's Vortex will be a common target for all four Mechas' Ultimate Attacks and for Gelzehn's Laser Cannon.

Gaidoh can't jump really high with his wings (bombs weigh a lot), but he can use a dash attack that pushes players away and leaves four bombs behind him. He can also toss bombs immediately after this dash.

Finally, Gaidoh's ULTIMATE ATTACK is Dynamic Blast Dispersion. Gaidoh gathers energy, which looks like a super-exaggerated charging animation, then sends bombs of multiple types flying within twelve squares of himself. The attack throws five bombs per second for six seconds, and the bomb types are almost completely randomized; exactly one will be a Graviton Vortex. And ALL OF THEM will be Max Charge.

Obnoxiously Mobile Trooper Gelzehn!
This guy's actually smaller than the others, but only by about a square's length. Gelzehn's got a lighter build, with armor looking more like a metal Fencing Jacket than anything else, a Cyclops-Cap-like variant of the Mecha Knight head with Mecha Wings, and a shield that looks more like a real-life riot shield than anything else. His non-shield arm has an arm cannon and his wings are slightly bigger.

That's the key point of this guy. Gelzehn can fly and he knows it. Usually he'll be found hovering around the side of the arena. His most basic attack is strafing the area shooting bullets as he goes; these look like large green Scorcher bullets, but move faster, and cause pure Elemental damage. Gelzehn has many settings for this attack: he can fire two to four spreads of five bullets, about five or six spreads of three bullets, or just a rapid-fire line of lots of bullets.

Gelzehn also can fire Ironclaw rockets out of his arm cannon. Usually he'll fire out a lot at a time to try and deny Knights an area; his rockets don't hurt him or his allies like normal Ironclaw rockets. His arm cannon can also blast out a cloud of Poison gas that deals Elemental/Poison damage, can do an "air blast" that pushes projectiles away and launches Knights across the room and can unleash a flamethrower that sweeps in front of him to inflict Strong Fire on unfortunate targets.

But his key attack is his laser cannon. Gelzehn's laser cannon will rip across the entire arena in an instant, dealing nasty Elemental/Shock damage, and Gelzehn will use this to his advantage. He'll try to line up two or more knights to hit them both at once, and he'll prioritize aiming for knights that are Frozen, Stunned, or in Gaidoh's Vortex.

And wait till you see his ULTIMATE ATTACK, Unstoppable Demise Beam. Gelzehn charges up his laser cannon, generating a green glowing light in his arm cannon, then fires; the resulting laser blast is an entire space wide, deals more damage than usual, lasts for eight seconds, turns up to a total of 45 degrees during that time to catch nearby Knights, and emits projectiles out to the sides at regular intervals. Stay back.

Hilariously Inept Crusher Grunmalk!
Grunmalk is a bit bigger than Gelzehn, but a bit smaller than Gaidoh. He appears to be wearing a mechanical version of Mighty Cobalt Armor and has a normal (albeit larger) Mecha Knight head with a Bolted Wide Vee. He carries a Flourish and Polaris fitted to his proportions, as well as a larger version of the standard Mecha Knight shield. He also has metal wings.

The other three were awesome, but Grunmalk is a joke- he seems to think wielding a Striker loadout automatically makes him invincible. His main attack is a very telegraphed Piercing-damage stab that's so easy to dodge it's not even funny. He can spam his Polaris, and it has slightly bigger exploding bullets, but the thing is, he'll spam on the same spot for about 10 seconds, leaving himself wide open. Grunmalk rarely, if ever, shields in time to block the first projectile in ANY clip from hitting him. He also has a spin attack; however, half the time he'll malfunction mid-spin-attack and half the time he'll deploy it too late.

Speaking of which, Grunmalk is the only member of the Tinkinzan Mecha Brigade that can malfunction, like most Mecha Knights. This will Shock him and anyone near him. And Grunmalk's ULTIMATE ATTACK? It's Possibly Useful Kick. Grunmalk charges energy, then dashes toward a target in a flying kick. This can actually cause serious damage, but it's quite telegraphed and isn't TOO hard to dodge, especially compared to the other Ultimate Attacks.

However, Grunmalk does have one gimmick: he'll energy-revive himself. You'll have to kill Grunmalk five times because he'll energy-revive himself exactly that much; however, this barely gets over the amount of damage you need to pump into Gragor.

Combo Attacks
Each Mecha can do a combo attack with another Mecha. Here are the combos:

Mega Blast Smasher (Gragor/Gaidoh)
Gaidoh will deploy a large bomb, then toss it toward Gragor; upon its arrival, Gragor will smash it with his Thunder Troika, creating a large blast around him that deals heavy Shock and Elemental damage in a wide area.

Shining Magnum Reflection (Gragor/Gelzehn)
Gragor will move toward one edge of the arena and hold his shield up; Gelzehn will fly to a far point and fire his laser at Gragor's shield. This reflects the laser, covering more area.

Galvanic Mecha Launch (Gragor/Grunmalk)
Gragor wil lift Grunmalk, then bat him into the air with his troika; Grunmalk will fire his Polaris downward, then land with his body electrified and his Flourish pointed down. The Polaris shots deal usual Shock/Elemental explosion damage and Grunmalk landing deals heavy Normal damage.

Energized Cryonic Wave
Gaidoh will toss an Ice Bomb to Gelzehn, who will load it in his laser; Gelzehn will then blast out three waves of freezing energy that deals Elemental and Freeze damage.

Overloaded Kamikaze Rush
Gaidoh will load four bombs onto Grunmalk, who will then rush toward the nearest knight. The bombs will explode, causing slight damage to Grunmalk and a lot of damage to the nearest target.

Divided Electron Hell
Grunmalk will fire multiple Polaris shots at Gelzehn, who will absorb them in his arm cannon, then release the energy in the form of a spray of large Shock/Elemental bullets. They create small explosions upon impact or at the end of their flight path and, as the name implies, they tend to create bullet hell.

So with the combo attacks, even Grunmalk can be some use! ...a little.

When one of the Mechas goes down, his parts will be absorbed by the other Mechas. Gragor's parts will give the others +25% universal defense, Gaidoh's parts will give the others a +25% charge time reduction for their attacks, Gelzehn's parts will give the others +25% universal movement speed, and Grunmalk's parts will give the others a +25% damage increase.

When all four of them go down, the exit opens up and you get whatever reward they drop.

So! Compliments? Complaints? Links in your Balancing and Branching thread?

Fighting all...At once?

I seriously hope you plan to divide these four up into stages, because considering your definition of these four, it would be very hard to focus on all four, which will probably lead to many infuriating deaths by laser cannon, grenade and the like. I would advise setting up a system where you can battle each of them, back to back, but the set-up of the arena would also lock down three of the, through stepping on one of four party button, each one representing one of them. And, for the sake of an interesting fight, if you have four people in your party, then you can have all four attack simultaneously, with each one targeting one random knight, making it so it would essentially be a one on one fight between four teams. Otherwise, this would be an interesting and fun idea to implement as a boss.

..."ultimate attack"?

for me there is no "might" in "might get the brain distracted".

Other than that, seems kinda cliche. And I don't think that OOO would want to put that joke in their game....
