I was wondering what the best sword in spiral knights was, is it the fang of vog, avenger or Faust or the warmaster rocket hammer? I was just wondering what I should get for a 5* sword

1. Please remove your second thread. Go to Edit then move it to the Graveyard. Don't bother leaving a shadow copy.
2. As Rabeet said, different damage types work differently against different enemies. eg. The FoV is really, REALLY bad for Alpha Ash Tails. Normal damage does equal damage to anything, so is in theory the 'best' as in 'most usable', but deals sub-par damage, whereas having two different elements will allow you to do better damage to 67% of targets, and do average damage for the other 33%.
3. To get for a 5* sword? That all depends on the rest of your loadout and your playing style, and it's only a matter of time before Bopp turns up and posts his Sword Guide here. Look at it, it's useful. I also can't be bothered to search for it and put a link in myself. That said, the FoV is a show sword at best and only good for charge-nuking really BIG enemies. As in, Royal Jelly BIG.

If you don't like "heavy" swords, take Leviathan blade. There are many optinons, you can even waste all you crowns for Scissor Blades xD.

As much as I hate brandishes
As much as I hate brandishes myself since they're so overpowered, it's probably the Combuster. It's charge does massive damage to Constructs and Undead which are weak to elemental damage, and a lot of damage to Jellies and Fiends which are neutral to elemental damage. It can even take care of Beasts and Gremlins due to the strong fire dealt through its charge attack.

For a start, get a Brandish
It's probably the most powerful sword line, DPS wise. I personally reccomend the fire branch.

I consider the pepperbox to be a sword! Huzzah!
But do consider the possibilites. ALL of them.
Just choose the one that's the most fun to use! I personally chose the Dread venom striker, but each to their own.
Well there isn't any best sword out there although there is a sword that works in every condition which is the Leviathan Blade it only deals normal damage which works everywhere but against Undead or Constructs an Elemental sword is the best and so on.
