It's no secret to those who have been playing the game for a while now that Three Rings have taken this game in a completely different direction than what a lot of people would have preferred.
It seems that more people have started catching on and waking up to the fact that that there's something is 'wrong' with Spiral Knights, but there's still a large portion of players that are completely oblivious to it and I don't blame them since a lot of players are new and have no knowledge of Spiral Knight's history so they don't care or understand.
Firstly, I think we need to educate or at least expose newer players to the history of Spiral Knights so that they can see what Spiral Knights WAS and honestly choose whether they want to support Three Rings in guiding the game back to it's roots or continue not caring about the game's direction. This may be a little more difficult than it sounds since there's not much trace of the preview content, however, there's no doubt a lot documented content of Early Access and the first month or two after release.
Secondly, we must reach critical mass awareness on this issue so that it can spread on it's own and flow throughout the community rather than having to push this idea and convince people that it's important.
Personally, I have too many good memories and experiences attached to Spiral Knights to simply shrug this off and let it die. I have this intangible, intrinsic feeling that tells me Spiral Knights is a real gem in the industry that has a lot of untapped potential. I'm tired of seeing games flourish in their beta/early release stages and then falling short soon thereafter.
There's not much more I can say that hasn't been addressed already in GameTrekker's Thread (http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/78471) which I suggest you check out if you haven't already, but I'd like to finish by saying that I've tried to convey this issue to many people a number of times over the past year, but like I said, people either don't seem to understand what I'm talking about, or just don't care at all. All I can say is, that's not the kind of personality that is going to change the fate of a game, so we need to be honest about who really wants to see change and who simply doesn't care.
Thank you,
Razorlined.
