OMG I think I was actually right! I'm going to purposely necro this thread and add this to the OP.
But like, look at the new update:
-Gets rid of craft alts
-Attempts to make people branch out via orbs of alchemy
-Allows players to play whatever they want to via changing the energy system.
I think I called it.
EDIT: Also, why is this in the treasure vault? This isn't some kind of crappy fan-fiction, this is an argument written in the form of a story meant as a discussion. It was also intented to slightly make fun of fan-fiction. You guys that move threads behind my back are impossible, and some day if I win the lottery, I'll bribe you into not moving my threads around.

Nick paced back and forth, confused at the results. Why did the players do this?
The devs all sat around the table facing him. Waiting. He opened up the slide show to reveal the intriguing results of their latest survey- the one with the e-passes.
Nick sighed and began the meeting slowly- "As you can all see, most of the newer players enjoy crafting things far more than actually playing the game. They do not, in fact, even touch the clockworks most of the time."
The representative from SEGA gave him a funny look and spoke. "But those players could easily have played the game and made more money. It was free for them?"
"84% of the new players we gave passes to maintained their regular set of actions that consisted of logging in, crafting 2 2* items, and then leaving. They don't actually play the game."
What could it possibly mean?
Nick spoke up again- "I could have sworn that hiding their money from them would convince them that there is more to the game than crafting. I knew that we never should have explained what the crafting machines were!"
Jordan interjected, breaking the awkward silence- "And what levels did the players that did play go to?"
Nick sighed again.
"A few of them broke their playing habits and played random levels for a bit, but most, if not all, of them went back to playing through the firestorm citadel. The Tier Two players we gave passes to seemed set on fighting the royal jelly without end."
Chris looked hurt.
"They didn't like the new levels we made?"
"Nope. All they like are undead, fire and slime." Was the answer.
Ian also looked confused. "But the new levels- those slimes are adorable! They're all I ever want to fight now.."
The team murmured about, agreeing with Ian. Even nick liked fighting blue berries.
"But no, most of the players just farmed bosses."
The Sega Representative spoke up once more- "What about the players that didn't fight the bosses constantly?"
"They seemed to play completely random levels, the arcade, and random missions as well. But after a while they too went back to farming the bosses. Well, most of them. A few of them started running the first part of a stratum and that was it."
The Sega representative looked just as puzzled as the rest of the team.
"I guess... we'll go to lunch or something. I really don't know what to make of this."
The team broke, meeting adjourned.
Fehzor, let it go, dammit.
