Before reading let me explain a bit. or is a Chinese Bejeweled-like RPG game, where basically you connect 3 or more rune stones to trigger attacks, the only difference is you can move the runestone anywhere you like as long as the timer doesn't run out. (You actually get 5 seconds to do so) Madhead is a small company too, running a farily popular game with a descent player-base. It's similar to OOO, a small development team.

【Announcement 】Unusual Friend Point Seal Cards Issue

Due to technical error, besides being able to summon the monsters from the diamond seal card event "Gift from the Flare Messenger", some players had the chance to summon the same monsters by friend point seal on April 15 (Mon) 00:00 - 00:45.

To maintain the fairness of the game, automatic update will take place on April 15 (Mon) 13:30 (GMT +8). In the update, all the affected monsters (including the ones which have been evolved or leveled up) will be replaced with 4* Flaming Great Soulstone. Monsters summoned by diamond seal are not affected.

In addition, a compensation of 5 diamonds will be given to all players on April 16 (Tue).

Affected monsters include:
5* Little Lotus
5* Faith Skuld
4* Soul Matcher Skuld
4* Metallic Lion King

We treasure every player in Tower of Saviors and always try our best to protect the players' interests by all means. We hope that you will continue to support us! Thank you for your understanding!

** Compensation will only be given to players who have reached Lv.10 or above by 23:59, April 16.

Alright, now I should explain something else. The 'friend point seal' allows you to draw a random card varying from 1 star~3 stars depending on your luck. You need 200 friend points to do this. When a player 'borrows' your leader card for the first time in a day you get 10 points whilst when an adventurerer (someone who's not on your friend list) borrows it you get 5 points.
*The Friend Points Seal* only provides 1~3 star cards, not 4 star ones, 5 star ones and 6 star ones.

However the other 'Diamond Seal' requires diamonds which are roughly $1 each, it can also be obtained by participating promotions and completing missions. From the diamond seal you are allowed to obtain 3~6 star cards, and that is what this promotion was aiming on. You get higher chances than usual to obtain the cards listed above which includs a beloved Eastern God that is ultra rare; it is considered as one of the best cards in this game.

Despite what the official company claims, there was a systematic error; as illustrated above. People were able to obtain the several rare cards via which was only meant to provide 1~3 star cards. Certainly this is not our fault, some people store up friend points for a massive draw while others like me simply couldn't be bothered and use it all everyday. The people who store up points obviously got an advantage, they filled their inventory with these ultra rare cards that I spent $30 on diamond seals and was yet to obtain. This seems unfair right? But in my oppinion the company did a great job and satisfied both parties, the 'gain' and 'loss' party.

They took away the cards, replaced it with an EXP material card as compensation. These material cards yield truck loads of experience points for other cards. People who obviously 'wasn't awake at the right time' also got 5 diamonds, which can be used for upgrades and cards. This settles the grant down. We treasure every player in Tower of Saviors and always try our best to protect the players' interests by all means. We hope that you will continue to support us! Thank you for your understanding!

Now let's look at how our OOO deals with such situations:
1. RSS nerf allowed some players with loads of CE to rage craft shard bombs for a lifetime supply of UV tickets, nothing was taken against this. Normal players will only have 1~2 exact same type of weapon in arensal. I felt cheated, well I have around 40k CE that time and banged my head 'why didn't I make like 400 shard bombs?' OOO notified us BEFORE the update which allowed players awake during that time to trade 50ce for a uv ticket.

2. CE market crash, this is very funny and brilliant, someone decided to troll the entire game sending out free CR, people awake during that period of time rolled millions into punch and some armed themselves with those chaotically hellish UVs while some other players like me was asleep.
OOO took action against this, banned the offender and took away the illegal CR, but UVs remain.

3. Other glitched included the curse glitch, running into LD with total curse immunity; the crafting glitch and etc.

I sincerely hope OOO has the capability to deal with exploiters and honest players. The recent updates were awesome, great job. :)

Don't take this post too seriously and have a civil discussion if you like to. I simply saw the facebook announcement from the company after granting over me being a jerk not stocking up points for a giant gain, despite not getting the giant EXP card I was happy overall. I knew that I was valueable to this team and they treat us all equally.

No-Thanks
what does this have to do with sk

why should an sk player bother to read all this jargon from another mmo
if everybody were to argue like this wed be in hell of tldr

i mean sure, but how about gremlin chatter i dont really wana read details about another mmo, i wouldnt be able to understand the situation without a good summary and even then this has nothing to do with sk

the title is really long too im not quite sure what ur trying to get at, if its supposed to be an analysis and comparison of behavioural patterns, whats the point

why do forumers get so personal with devs anyway, ive gotten used to those crybaby posts trying to get their voices heard and just making everybody deaf with their screaming. but this is a completely new sub-species

the 2nd half of the post is informative, but im completely lost with the 1st half of the post

care to write a tldr?

E:oh yea and sorry..maybe its JUST ME

He's trying to say

that OOO is making a hash of fixing the game's various bugs/compensating for older items, to the point where, if you happened to be online in the time-frame of this [game-breaking exploit/90min update timer between the patch notes being announced and the reboot], you could basically get a lot of CR for free, which OOO would do nothing about.

At least, that's what I think Materialist's saying.

NB: Not the wrong forum subsection, we're talking about OOO's business plans.

He makes a good point, to be fair. That OOO could handle it's compensation type things better.

the first three comments are uber-fails

Its a compare and contrast with another Indie Studio.
Obviously, they [Tower of Saviors] know how to fix problems. Without making any one on either side getting ragy about it.
/bravo
OOO though, needs a lesson and maybe a paid mentor on how to deal with glitch/bug abuse.

my 2 cents

Exploit and bugs happens in every game...

Spotting the exploiters and buggers has always been a top priority in any major company

Having 15 people that can do this is impressive when you consider that Blizzard and 1000 employee couldn't even hold the exploiters.

Yes the finders who doesn't say anything will exploit it. Whether you accept that some people CAN get an advantage because of their knowledge and that they risk themselves into losing everything is your opinion. And if you want to do it:

Go google a bit. Spiral Knights exploit are the same exploit as any java game or any game that uses SQL...

I have been in those situation where you can farm the heck out of an exploit. But the problem is: are you willing to take the risk to lose everything you have for it?

I said yes in some situation and I said no in others. And it got me banned for exploiting the game... So... Don't do it. Not because you see someone do it that you should.

Edit: Obviously, they [Tower of Saviors] know how to fix problems. Without making any one on either side getting ragy about it.

What about that time when they reverted all transactions that has been made because someone flooded the market with duped ce?

What about that Halloween glitch?

What about all those bugfixes?

OOO handle exploit very well and in a very calm and kind manner. Go play D3 for 2 months and see how they handle glitch *WAK* Dang it! The nerf hammer is following me!!!! RUN!!!

"Reverted all transactions that has been made because someone flooded the market with duped ce"

When exactly did this happen because the only time I can think of anything like this happening they said "Most people spent it on Punch already so we cant revert it." And I got to keep the 2.5m crowns I made. Unsure about how many other countless people got to keep their crowns or ce they made off of it.

my 2 cents

@ Wodanct there was a glitch in the market when converting ce and cr. All ce/cr transaction got reverted during that time-laps

And yes those things happens... It's like that, it happens in real life too.

There's some thing we can do about it, and some we can't.

Like all those people who exploited that Winterfest glitch... They never got anything and made millions cr by getting thousands of tokens easily -_-

OOO is not a bad company because some people found exploits in the game
