DVS vs. WHB

I know that this question has been asked a lot, but the search bar is pig-slow and Google doesn't find these threads reliably. I'm gonna ask it in a slightly different way anyways.

These are the rumors/data I know for each blade:
DVS:
*only poison sword
*charge doesn't interrupt enemies
*faster than WHB

WHB:
*stronger vs. beasts (but weaker than FF)
*charge interrupts enemies
*slower-swinging than DVS

First off, are the last two points for each sword true?

Now my main question is, do these swords have any other abilities?

And, while you're at it, is one of them better than the other?

I can say from experience that sitting around a party lobby with a Wild Hunting Blade gets people to take one look at you and bail faster than any other 5* sword.

searching

Try searching Google for "spiral knights forum dvs whb". The first link will have an annotation, "More results from forums.spiralknights.com". Click on it to find many, many threads on this subject. My own answer is here. It confirms several of your suspicions, sometimes citing data.

As a user of both

I can indeed confirm that DVS swings faster than WHB, that WHB interrupts with every swing of it's charge and, DVS does not interrupt on it's charge no matter the damage bonus or amount of players in the party.

Thinslayer - I seem to recall that the ghost swings have somewhat different properties, in that the WHB is more likely to damage with its ghost swings than the DVS, due to the knockback of the latter on small to medium non-stationary enemies. That may be due to the fact that the person testing the DVS is not using the whole combo quickly enough, though, because I have found myself able to hit with the normal and ghost swings as long as I keep attacking.

(I can't give any feedback on the WHB, unfortunately, since I don't own one. But I'd be quite happy to sign up to a party with someone who does, so it can be tested in the Clockworks.)

@Aureate

That's an interesting idea about WHB ghost swings. I own a DVS myself, so I can't test the properties of a WHB, but I do know a friend of mine who has one. I'll see if I can get her to test her sword with me.

rehashing

At this point, we're just rehashing another recent thread.

There's nothing wrong with rehashing threads. Even this part- where you point out that we're rehashing a thread and I counter with "But there isn't anything else to talk about" is a complete rehash.

That's all Spiral Knights will EVER be. A complete rehash.
