So, I have recently been trying to sell some TF2 Refined Metal for SK CE. I saw someone on zone chat selling he'd buy TF2 items. I /tell'd him, and he said he'd pay 1000 CE a ref. I was kind of surprised to see how high the price was, but was more along the lines of suspicious.
I added him on Steam, and he offered me a total of 16500 CE for all of my metal. I added it to the trade, and asked him to add the CE to the trade. He said the Spiral Knights tab didn't show up in his trading window. I was already quite uncertain.
I told him to meet me in-game. He had 17 hours of SK on steam, and was wearing 2* gear, although it wasn't full inspect and this doesn't have that much of an influence over whether or not he was a scammer.
I met up with him, and he refused to add the CE to the in-game trade, which basically convinced me that he was trying to trick me.
A guildie, who was an avid trader, came online and I told him what happened. He said he might not have been scamming me, and that some of the evidence I cited was a common mistake, so I tried again.
I later added him, and the following happened:

I have his profile information but I am withholding that. I reported him in-game but I'm not sure I'm ready to report him on Steam. Did I make the write choice? I feel like I did, that the evidence is just too much to show that he isn't. He also seemed rather young.
You should probably block out his name.
