So a lot of people don't like the UI, and the fact that people's names are now white in Haven and only have a colour if they are a friend/guildmate.

Here's an idea to try make the most of this. A feature called 'Find Me!'

Say you're making a trade with someone you found in Trade Chat, and need to go to a particular Haven and find them to make the trade. It sure would be a lot easier to find them if their white name now was bold and coloured, and their dot on the minimap was also bold and coloured. The colour would presumably be an alerting colour ie. red/yellow/orange.

Say you wanted to find me, I guess this feature could be activated by typing something like:

"/find Rich-Tbiscuit" To add a player to 'Find Me!'.
"/found Rich-Tbiscuit" To remove a player from 'Find Me!'

I guess the shorthand commands could be something like:

/f+ = /find
/f- = /found

Just a little idea to help with things.

I know you could just add them as a friend and join them. But sometimes you don't fancy friending someone just for a trade, and you might already be in the same haven so can't join.

So like "pinging" the minimap?

Yeah.

Nothing ground breaking.

Ahh, that guy is stalking me while I wash myself! Ahh! He appears when I talk about private things! Ahh! He joins my run when I am trying to be hardcore soloing bosses!

my 2 cents

Most people didn't know there was a /whereis and /whois command in Diablo II to locate someone and to know their accountname.

Not ground breaking, give us more tools to work with.

I like commands!!

/invite is my go to when I have to invite someone that is not on my friend list

How will they be able to get to you if they can't see your name nor your minimap dot?

Perhaps you should read the suggestion before commenting, instead of just the title.

Actually, I did. I was just thinking it was both on Minimap and a list on Social.
Now I re-read, I didn't make sense on my last 2... but at least give the one who needs to be found a option to decline. If let's say a begger sees a rich person with like 30 Valks and crap, they could spam it in different Haven instances and parts. I don't want to be seen everywhere by everyone.

Well...

Thing is there's nothing stopping someone from actually following you and broadcasting your location to everyone already.

If someone wants to find out where you are, and then spam you with chat and requests, the same rules as currently exist would apply: /ignore

Having a find feature wouldn't really affect anyone's privacy, just a little way to make finding people easier.

Oh and @hex

I like the idea of "pinging" the minimap, kinda like in Starcraft 2.

That could be useful in Coliseum and Mission parties aswell.
