Hey OOO,

I personally think that you should make the SL runs free and make the Shadow Key required to actually unlock the crafting machine at the end. The game is a lack of challenge. You nerfed all monsters (/me remember his first FSC run where zombies were following you with their claws and eating your brain.). And paying 1,800ce to play a "good" run and not even get back what you paid doesn't worth it, imo. So well, add new bosses (real bosses, not some joke like Vanaduke.) cause we really need new challenges. Instead of adding more and more accessories (I know this is what that pays your bills but well...), Pokemons (yeah, sprites are just a pale copy of pokemons...), etc. Now you will tell me about the danger missions, yeah right. But you need to follow the "cycle" to play them. Also, you should randomize monsters spawns, cause everything is predictible all the time. You do a run once, and you know it by heart. In other words, the game is boring for end-game players.

Anyways, thanks for all the fun but I'm losing my interest more and more everyday.

Curious idea...
Although the payout for good Shadow Lair runs is pretty huge, (not big enough compared to the price of a Shadow Key split 4 ways, but still pretty big) especially if you do the whole thing without party wiping. It'd definitely have to be looked into before the economy explodes even more than it currently is. (Ok, it's not that bad right now, but it could get a lot worse)

Shadow Lair novelty wore off already. The model they run is similar to the one in MMOs where as they expand, they tend to put for free the older "new" areas. Of course, not all of them follow that, but it is an accepted model of "pay to get first to an area". The problem being that OOO didn't release any new area, Crimson Hammer being on its own.

Also, as you said I (and I think I commented on it too back in the day) Danger Missions make Shadow Keys a "why is this even here" due to them being also "hard challenges for expert players". Moving the Shadow Key as a (ideally one time) purchase artifact to be able to craft from the Sanctuary Machine would actually work here. In fact, the Shadow Key may then be able to be used for other similar machines - maybe in a future in a Swarm area or something.

So yes, I support this. In fact, it would make me and my friends return to the game, most likely.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

I have another idea!

Make Shadow keys show up in the prize wheel! They'd only appear in T3 of the Arcade, because the SLs are in the Arcade. The chance would be equal to that of an Iron Lockbox in Stratum 5 and then would double in Stratum 6. (As long as Stratum 6 isn't a boss stratum. *hint hint*)

Good idea or bad?

Personally I think keys should still be purchasable the same way they are and should still be required to enter a Shadow Lair. When you don't get to enter the SL every day, I think most people will feel "I'd better not mess this up...I'd better not mess this up..." instead of "If I die, I can always come right back!" which most people feel about FSC.

I think that the whole shadow lair system is a bit goofy as it is. I'd rather the shadow lairs be made harder to reach through branching paths in the arcade. Like you'd have to navigate to it. The whole key aspect of shadow lairs is a bit eh... putting it on the sanctuary machine doesn't make much sense either. You could just increase the cost of crafting SL armor though. Remove keys. The only reason there are even keys, and not just heightened elevator costs is so that the keys can be in lockboxes. Players that already have keys? Make a new lockbox that contains shadowy versions of accessories or something.

+1 and also

First shadow lair shouldn't be unlocked until you have full 5*/Vanguard rank.

@Klipik

You can't even get to a Shadow Lair unless you have or are hitching a ride with someone who has Tier 3 clearance, so I fail to see why you mentioned that.

@Hex

I could have gotten to UGWW two months ago, when I was just 4*. Not that I had the CE for it, but I don't think I should have been allowed to do that. And for clarification, can you bring protos to SL's? Does it let them on the elevator? Or can someone with only SL 1 clearance go to UFSC?

I AGREE!!!

SL FSC would finally be the place for expert players to play and the regular FSC would be for casual players.

Great idea, there could be some tweaking here and there but overall

+1

I'll even try to bring all my guildies to +1 this Thread

Belle suggestion invincible, j'adorerais voir sa. Vraiment... chapeau!

Edit: @Hexzyle doesn't it only takes 4* to access T3 in Arcade? Or is it because I was going through with the vial bug...? >.< (real question, is it 4* or 5*?)

And for clarification, can

Why you'd even let a proto into your Tier 3 party without kicking them (or locking your party in the first place like a normal person) I have no idea.

Shadow Lair Clearance, codewise, operates identically to Tier Clearance, except seperately.

There's:

Dusk Rescue Camp Clearance
Night Rescue Camp Clearance
Haven Clearance

Tier 2 Clearance
Tier 3 Clearance

Shadow Lair 2 Clearance
Shadow Lair 3 Clearance

Previously you could enter the Arcade's tier 1 without Haven Clearance, but that is no longer the case.
Tier 2 Clearance is given by the 2 star warden (previously at Moorcroft, now is at 2 star Hall of Heroes)
Tier 3 Clearance is given by the 4 star warden (previously at Emberlight, now is at 4 star Hall of Heroes)
Anyone can enter the first Shadow Lair, of course they need to make it to the Tier 3 Terminal in the first place, which is usually not possible without outside help.
