Playing and typing at the same time would be a bother right? What if there could be a way for people without steam to speak into a microphone and the words that you spoke became text in the box so you wouldn't have to press enter and then have your party wait while you finish typing. Example of how voice to text can be useful are:

When you are in haven
When you are trading
When you are battling (also in Lockdown)

Software like that are too complex to do right. Between regional differences, multiple languages, words that sound the same.......
And really, wouldn't you prefer regular voice chat?

I don't think that voice to text technology has been that much advanced yet. With SK's standards of it being a simple 256 mb java game, It will be like trying to to talk to Siri on an iphone 4S.

I insist the game could make it's own version of steam voice chat. It'd be easier to do and you'd like it more.
