...do any of you know if Basil or Vatel sell Cobalt line Armor/Helm recipes or stock Defender line recipes?
I've seen Blast bomb and Blaster upgrades (but not yet the Blast Bomb or the Blaster themselves), Irontech, Deconstructor, Vitasuit Deluxe and Heater Shield recipes, but none of the standard Cobalt Armor, Helm or Shield recipes yet. Do their tradeable counterparts still exist?
For those who actually are still aware of who Basil and Vatel are...

I have a use for the recipes, I'm just wondering if I should stop looking for them or not.
Think I bought my Nitronome recipe from Basil way back in the day. I don't know why those particular recipes would be removed.
Hexzyle is doing a no-missions alt.
I was suckered into buying my Spiral-esque recipes from the AH when they made it sound like they were removing them from the clockworks entirely and could only get them through the Missions once they went live.
I lost about 150k crowns that day.
You can and could only ever buy the Blast Bomb line from Basil and Vatel. You had to buy the other Cobalt stuff from Kozma and later Jorin.
basil sells cobalt. today I found a blast bomb in basil's store. and a RSS. no, the new one.
@Dukeplatypus
Ah that's a real bummer, now I remember. Kozma used to be at Subtowns selling gear so you could craft it and pass through the tier gate on the same run, that would mean there was no need for Cobalt Armor to be at Basil. Why is Blast Bomb though?

A Blast Bomb is not Cobalt Armor
read cobalt set.
I recollect seeing cobalt helm/armor recipies out of HoH, but I can't remember where or when exactly.
I don't see why you'd buy recipes from vatel. The only GOOD 2* recipes (ones that you can actually get to 5* with) are in hall of heroes.
For that matter, the Cobalt/Defender line are total trash. They're completely outclassed by the snarbolax set (that is, Vog/Skolver/Snarbolax and Barbarous Thorn Shield, respectively)
Finally, you get the recipes from missions for FREE.
I was wondering how long it would take before some "hero" comes in, doesn't answer the question, and then just attempts to patronize the @#%& out of me.
Don't you have anything useful to add to the thread?
BTW, it's little babies with Barbarous Thorn Shields and other overused, overpowered equpment that complain that they're having the daylights beaten out of them by Silversaps and whine about how underpowered One of the most awesome armors in the game is.
If you'd paid any attention to any of the previous comments, you would have learned where I reckon you can shove your missions.

I bought mine from Kozma 'back in ye olde days'
And yes Hexzyle, all recipe appear at Basil (not sure which recipe Vatel sells though). Even the ones that are given to you via missions or by HoH.
I have crafting mules so I can confirm ^ ^
My post WAS useful. Your thread is not. Why complain about not finding the recipes that you don't NEED to get from vatel/basil?
Also Almirian crusader is ridiculously overpriced (consider the cost of a shadow key, materials, playing through the FINAL shadow lair in the entire game, plus the default 800ce and however man crowns it costs to craft) as well as the fact that I have been told that it's not even that good compared to, say, the Snarbolax set or Mercurial demo.
Regardless, we're not talking about Almirian Crusader, we're talking about cobalt/mighty cobalt/solid cobalt. Because AC doesn't even have an available recipe. So the point is moot. You can still get them all from HOH/Rank missions.
Why complain about not finding the recipes that you don't NEED to get from vatel/basil?
Firstly, it wasn't a complaint. Secondly, it's not a case of need rather than want.
Also, about the AC set, you probably have to consider the costs of the other three Shadow Keys if you don't have anyone to rely on to get into UFSC prematurely.
/reply OP: I think Basil has all recipes in game, with the usual Depth/recipe star restrictions.
To create the AC set, as far as I'm aware. Since I haven't done a Shadow Lair, I don't know all the details about the set crafting beyond the basics. Also the set is besides the point; this isn't about the Shadow Lair gear.
If we get spoon fed LUMBERS, of all things, I'm going to quit. Like, seriously.
le sigh
I have seen various of the 2*, 3* and 4* helm, armour, bomb and shield recipes at Basil recently. I don't really talk to Vatel that much any more, though, other than out of the vague hope of finding more Firebreak Helm recipes to flog off as costume fodder. Can't say whether the 5* versions or the sword recipes are still available, but that might just be Basil being a jerk again.
Well I can't say myself if Basil sells the cobolt set recipes. The SK wiki says Jorin (Hall of Heroes) sells them now since Kozma (did I spell that right?) is playing the new CE item merchant.
Also someone really complained about lumbers, or just silversaps variation? Actually, that info doesn't matter its all the same in the end. You deserve to have your face smashed in if you charge straight at any lumber... that didn't stop them from nerfing everything else though did it? Great..
Applause for the play through and all... But I thought they killed the non-missions pathway via elimination of the old method of gaining tiers? If not, all for it.
Anywho, basil will very rarely sale cobalt since missions, I got cobalt grade gear in t2 about 1 time after 20 arcade arena runs post-missions. (the rare occasion arenas and vana appear in a near perfect sync.)
If you'd like any help along the way and I happen to be online I have a full plate set and a couple swords/guns to heat up a bit.
@Batabii
"Regardless, we're not talking about Almirian Crusader, we're talking about cobalt/mighty cobalt/solid cobalt"
We ARE talking about Almirian Crusader, what do you think Mighty/Solid Cobalt upgrade into? Hence also why I mentioned Heater Shield. I don't want to be forced to go through all the missions to get to a Vanguard just so I can craft that one shield and Armor (because there are no Rank restrictions on any other piece of equipment)
@Gravelord-Caste
"Also, about the AC set, you probably have to consider the costs of the other three Shadow Keys if you don't have anyone to rely on to get into UFSC prematurely."
I've already got my SL2 Clearance, and cost is not an issue (BTW you only need 2 other Shadow Keys, you can do either URJP or UIMF to get your SL3 Clearance)
@Illumielle, Gravelord-Caste
"Why do you need to go to UFSC?"
I don't have to. I've already got a Maiden's Tear off the Auction House, and I plan to do a UIMF run to craft the armor due to the more valuable Gremlonium it gives. But I need to be able to get a Mighty Cobalt armor without having to go through all the missions to Defender Elite or whatever.
@Aureate
"I have seen various of the 2*, 3* and 4* helm, armour, bomb and shield recipes at Basil recently"
I read up on Vatel's page, apparently he's never sold Cobalt stuff (except for the bomb I think it was)
If you manage to aquire the Mighty Cobalt Armor (not helm) and Mighty Defender recipes (Just the 4 star versions) I will make it worth your while.
@Wodanct
"You deserve to have your face smashed in if you charge straight at any lumber..."
lol
@Skold-The-Drac

Anyone who had gained Tier clearance before the missions released could still pass through the tier gates. I had a Rescue Camp alt that had tier 2 clearance, but I screwed it up by doing the mission that takes you from Day Rescue Camp to Night Rescue Camp, so I started again.
I'll keep an eye out for the 4* armour and shield recipes for you, in that case.
But I have seen T2 Basil have a 2-star Blast Bomb recipe a long time ago.
But arent they useless because there a freebie with the missions???
