I just started up recently and am not on tier 2 yet, but I've had knights before who did reach tier 2. This, however, was before the mini monsters were released. Long question short...are the mini monsters anything to be worried about? Or are they another wimp mob like chromalisks?
The mini monsters?
I wouldn't say that the mini monsters are very easy. I've done them only on Tier 3, but there are lots of them, they do a fair amount of damage, and they often respawn. They are harder than chromalisks and modern wolvers.
So far ive ran into the dust bunnies, beetles n the little slimes, im pretty sure thats all of them.
If you take your time none of them are much to worry about untill you get into tier 3.
Of the 3 id say in my opinion the dust bunnies are the least of your worries, as there attack range is moderiatly short and they have an obvious charge up. As long as you dont go flourishing into a group of them already charging an attack youll be alright.
As far as which is more of a pain im torn between the beetles and slimes. The beetles them selves are not hard, and in a way almost laughable, I have never been attacked by one that wasnt charging in so i cant speak to the fact if they do or do not have a natural attack as ive never been on the recieving end of one. However it is the beetles distance that makes it problematic at times, especialy in large open areas where they have a line of sight on you from off screen as they can charge there attack off screen and then come buzzing in on you unsuspecting while your dealing with some other issue.
The slimes to me are either simple or a serious pain and the only one of the 3 i avoid using a sword on becuase they are like inteligent floor trap monsters ( i cant remember the name off hand.) Alone they are no issue but in large groups, and especialy when accompanied by other monster families they can be a real doozy in tier 3. They dont really have an attack charge they kinda just squash out on the floor and come at you from all angles, i usualy pull out a gun and lead them along feeding them bullets. Be weary when using swords on groups of them becuase one almost always get in under the swing n takes a nibble of your health.
They're harder than wimp mobs, but if you use Nitronome they're easy.
I have so far only been up against dust bunnies and grave scarabs, and I've gathered this:
Dust bunnies are similar in AI to greavers but not as fast and don't have as much attack. They also die pretty quickly to flourish, in about 2 hits for me.
Grave scarabs however can be very annoying. To start, they seem to have more health than dust bunnies. Their dash attack is very annoying when they're off screen and suddenly charge right into you.
Overall, I'd say they are pretty easy if you finish them off fast, but if too many appear things can get out of hand.
