I've been playing spiral knights since 2011. Over time, I've watched new content get added (snarby, roarmulus, harder reskins of old bosses in harder areas), seen new systems get added (missions, finishing the guild hall! missions rock!), lots of balance tweaks (the nerfing of the jelly king, some other things that I don't remember), and some other stuff. It was fine and dandy, and I liked the game quite a lot, even when they caused the price of CE to double, or more accurate, crowns to drop.
Then, after a few months of inactivity, I saw the UI change. This thing is incredibly useful! Now instead of being able to see my HP at a moment's notice, I have to look to the upper left of the screen, away from the combat! And I love not being able to see how much mist energy I have. It means I risk wasting my valuable crystal energy by going down elevators, which is something I absolutely love! I mean, just compare it to the old UI, which was a crappy feat of ancient design, I'm not sure how they ever produced anything so horrible. http://media.spiralknights.com/wiki-images/7/76/Interface.png
And those flat, easy on the eyes icons! I hate not having my eyes bleed whenever I look at my UI. I mean, life's just not as good unless the UI makes my eyes hurt. It'd be TERRIBLE if they added Zopy's UI redesign, it's so clean and lifeless! I mean, what's the point of having a pretty UI?
The new content is extremely amazing! I mean, with shadow lairs and all (that you have to spend tons of time grinding for), who wants to have a silly planetary core do something already? It's not like there could be anything interesting in it.
I absolutely hated the arcade, with its focus on random, interesting levels, and clean UI. I mean, who wants to have to plan ahead for a specific arcade run, instead of knowing what each level will have exactly before? Having missions to provide easy, short bursts of Spiral Knights is amazing!
Overall, these changes over the past years have made Spiral Knights a much more engaging and entertaining experience. I may add more to this post later, so check back occasionally!
1) this isn't a suggestion.
2) Careful with that sarcasm. The Internet will probably take it as fact.
