Does it seem like I have to pay something to do ANYTHING in this game. Not pay real money, I just need to pay something to do anything. It's really annoying. I've tried getting my friends to play and they all got annoyed and uninstalled and I don't blame them.

For example:
Pay crowns to send mail
Pay crowns to put things in auction
Pay a tax fee for actually selling something
Pay energy to play dungeons
Pay crowns and energy to craft
Pay crowns to play pvp
Pay crowns and energy to skip to higher tier dungeons
Pay energy to unbind items...and almost every item in this game is bound to you.
Pay, pay, pay, pay....

Seriously...ugh.

It's called sinks, vital to the game.

-Buy stamps to send letters
-Pay auction houses to sell your stuff for you because you're too lazy to use ebay
-...taxes, duh
-Elevators need power from somewhere...
-Because making things more powerful with no extra energy makes sense, right?
-When's the last time you could enter a fight club for free? Or a boxing ring?
-This hurts my brain to read
-Clearly you don't know how this system works

Yes you pay for things, but you have to pay for those things in real life too. They make sense. Bottom line, the company has to make money and us paying $$ for CE is how they chose to do it. All the crown things you mentioned are actually almost insignificant. 2% surcharge on CE market trading... 200cr for PvP... not much of a big deal, for anyone at any level really. Even in tier 1 you get over 200cr per level, and Snarby gives much more than that.

When you say "pay to skip to higher tiers"... that's entirely optional, and you would only do it if you don't have the time to go through the progression, or you don't care about the gameplay and just want to get to the endgame.

No-Thanks

and the list goes on with updates pay for dlc pay for shadow lairs pay for guild hall updates

it really sucks for new players all they want is to play the game lol

but having played alot, u dont care as much any more, i still like to avoid the costs of skipping t1 t2 in gates

we have the free advanced training hall, it was the only place that me and my f2p newbie friends could play for free...i was a professional setting-people-on-fire-guy lol

It's not real cash

Unlike paying for steam gift cards. Why are you worried?

"and almost every item in this game is bound to you."

Last time I checked you would have to equip the item.

"When's the last time you could enter a fight club for free? Or a boxing ring?"

Online Super Smash Bros. Brawl?

Oh whoops.

Nevermind you are right Klipik. My bad.

@Fullmetalelric

Everything even in real life does in fact cost money.

On another note did you get the username from watching and or reading FMA?

It's a video game

Well according to Klipik, then we should pay for the bullets we shoot as well. Do we need to pay for mechanics to repair and damages or faults that may happen in the city? How about gardeners to keep the gardens nice and trim? /sarcasm

I'm sorry to say but your logic didn't really make sense in terms of a video game. I understand why its there, but don't give me the excuse that "nothing in life is free" because that wasn't the point of my post.

It's just a hassle to always have to pay for every little thing. Like Curious said, I just realized it's a gold sink to create a false sense of length in the game. You spend more time thinking about how to make the next penny than actually exploring content. I was gifted an elevator pass and literally just ran through the entire game since the original post. Now there isn't anything to do. When you defend a game, don't defend it so blindly, don't create excuses for it. It's a great game don't get me wrong but I see the truth behind all the gold sinks.

And yes Blade, It might be a reference to FMA :P

It's not a sink to lengthen the game, it's a sink to keep the economy from going out the window.

Let me elaborate. Sinks are areas in the game where crowns are lost FOREVER into the game. As of such, when you gain money from the clockworks, sinks are where it is being circulated back to the game, and not circulated to other people. The amount of crowns in the game will stay constant, and the value of crowns will stay constant, thus inflation/deflation rate is at 0%, this is a perfect scenario.

Say you remove the crown sink and decided to ditch it because of whatsoever "I hate it" reason, then the amount of crowns with players will keep increasing. The value of crowns start to decrease, and you will need to pay more crowns to achieve the said value of other items (energy, items etc.). This is inflation, and it is a bad scenario due to the need to grind more to earn more crowns.

Are you hating crown sinks now because they ask you to pay for everything, or are you going to like it because they keep your energy price down at a whelping 7-8kcr?

There are actually tons of

There are actually tons of games and demos you can play for free. It's quite amazing how much play you can get out of a $0 budget.
'Course, internet is still a factor (bills) but if you have it already you can probably maintain the cost, hm?

Oh god this community

I never said I didn't want to pay for anything or even want anything for free -__-
Like I said in the beginning, it isn't about paying money or credits or anything...its about constantly having to pay something in order to do anything.

How come the economy isn't "out the window" in games where you don't have to pay currency for every single thing? This game lacks content and you guys know it. Just no one wants to admit it. I was able run through every single dungeon minus the expansion you have to buy in less than 3 days of casual play. I played for about a week before that without an elevator pass and barely cleared 20% of the gates. Interesting....

(I love how this became a matter of free-to-play / real dollar topic and everyone but 1 person missed the point completely)

Yes the game is a bit short on content, but They really need to fix the game first. As to the problem you've brought up, what do you think they should do about it? Besides make more content?

A bit ironic... >_>;

But... I had to say this...

Human kind can not gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of equivalent exchange.

No point in complaining, because you're gonna end up spending something in return. Besides, most other mmo's have the same system *psst* even real life too!
