Means as in . . .
-Other ways than Trading CR for CE
-Inviting Friends to play.
-Or having to spend any amount of cash just to-do dungeons. Crafting is fine... sort of.

Yes another Energy debate (yayyyyy...), despite of what the general population of this game who have either players who feed off their parents to pay for energy, or just have deep pockets and don't give a dam about anyone else. Im neither, I do like the game not enough to always pull out a credit card or go out to a local Target just to get a Steam card to do more dungeons, crafting, or other things that revolve around energy which is basically EVERYTHING in the game.

Sometimes i want to game with some people or even show them around as I introduce them into the game, but when i said you need energy to go into dungeons, many people that I just introduced into the game, and just leave. They don't see a point in where they should pay for something that they want to enjoy like in other games where you do not NEED an item to enter a level, stage, or even a boss run (in most games). Were not Poor, were not QQing, we just want to have some fun and enjoy the game with out the old "ball and chain" the ball being Energy, and the chain being "OOO".

So make an event, item, quest, or what ever, that doesn't involve putting a penny into the game (including crowns). because the crown to CE is insane, for 100 energy right now cost 7k in game credits, I can craft several items with that, and in some instances I rather do just that. All that market dose is just make people with super deep pockets, more rich in game and to be honest I don't give 2 turds about them.

If you plan to let this game grow any more than it is now, I suggest reworking the Idea around Energy... Because I tired, I really did try to keep people in this game, but they just leave faster than I can say "firestorm citadel", and its just a huge letdown seeing my friends, and coworkers pointing out the big obvious pain that you NEED energy to have FUN in a game that "I" personally enjoy.

Thank You

PS-
This is just an opinion and a suggestion so don't be trolling the forums. Ill greatly appreciate it, and if you do I would just Ignore the ignorant.
(I dont feed Trolls...)

(Some Ideas!)

have missions like. . .

-Power Plant Missions, to gain energy instead of Crowns.
-Farming in game, like planting or something along those lines...
-Mist Tanks in General Shop. (not exceeding in price like with CR to CE currently)
-Do something! instead of having people leaving all the time.

Ya Betcha this thread

Ya Betcha this thread again... its an apparent problem that is being ignored.

I got money, i can afford it. But whats the point when your friends from other games think that the most annoying part of it, is trying to do the dungeons... With Energy.

Why just print out more money

Why just print out more money for everyone inf the world.

Ohwait. INFLATION.

Mist tanks, No problem unless reasonable price, and or a prize from stuff(you get minis from Krogmo bribes).

Energy no. This more fairer in concept. You can just use the trade market(several F2Ps do this, and we aren't complaining about energy), because asking for this is like taking away OOO's buissness plan.

Why buy energy when you can do powerplants in Strata 6!?

You really think that the the game's populas is decreasing due to ENERGY!? Main reason people leave is that their endgame, hiatus or Disagree with OOO's tactics.

With more mist tanks, you can farm longer than usual. Besides, we have mist wells. Does the same, but is more of a donate to fill.

You friends must have short attention spans. Not everyone likes the game, and this isn't a hardcore grindfest.

Energy prices via trading can

Energy prices via trading can be resolved via cronsinks and doing something to boss missions.

Please tell me you were from pre-missions.

Inflation has already

Inflation has already happened, and lately the games Metascore, and reviews have been dropping. For things like...

"As much fun as the dungeons are, Spiral Knights ends up feeling like a confused demo. One that will keep asking you for money for ever and ever and ever."

http://www.pcgamer.com/review/spiral-knights-review/

"Spiral Knights is fast, accessible and fun until the spiteful pricing system pops up to punch you in the face."

PCgamer UK

"It’s decent almost except for the energy system which limits gameplay to a maximum of 2 hours a day. It’s a bad system to say the least."

Andrax: off of mmobomb.com

"The question of whether you'll have the strength I lacked to grind your way out of the constrictions of the energy system is another question entirely."

"You can get A misson or two Done before You have to pay or wait until the next day to have energy to play another dungeon or two."

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/spiral-knights/user-reviews

The Major Limitation to the game I see so far is the Energy and how it is being used. All im saying is that there NEEDS to be a better way to get more customers into the game to have a better profit margin. IF you want a better profit then you aim for the majority of gamers, and agree in the middle. have a system that works both ways, where you can pay money to get things done, but can also benefit people who just want to relax and enjoy the game for what it is.

The idea is to have fun with your friends and I for one don't see that happening anytime soon. Yes you can complain about what I've posted and say "well that wont work because of Inflation" It wont work because you wont LET it work. Go ahead Let Spiral knights fade away in to the bucket, because not that long ago its Metascore was above 80... now its 64! Ive been around long enough to see whats happening, eventually everyone is going to outgrow this game and move on, Spiral knights or 3 Rings, Whatever they are NEEDS a new market.

Do you even know what an inflation is? "inflation is a rise in the general level of prices of goods and services in an economy over a period of time" Is exactly what is going on here. Seeing CE going from 5000 CR to 7500 CR is insane! it use to be 10k! as well! Will result in inflation? no it would balance the market more than it is now. you would see more people willing to play as well. So get your head out of the bucket and listen.

Also not Everyone is into PvP type system.

Have these reviews made it to Vana? Or atleast T2?

You actually shouldn't trust these. May I ask the dates for said reviews were?

Problem with the game, Lack of content. Lack of OOO listening to community. THIS, could be resolved.

You really think adding more CE into the flux will help? Ask me this. Wouldn't the game need a redesign at that point?

Is there any point in buying packs, or trading CR for CE?

I never payed either.

EDIT: The first link was in '11, and several people actually disagree with the review.

Ask me this since 2011 has

Ask me this

since 2011 has anything changed in Energy wise?

Was there any new Events, dungeons, levels that give energy since 2011? Other than PvP?

Do i think the game needs to be redesigned? no. If you had a dungeon that took credits, in return filled you ME then things would be more... tolerable, and people would play more! have it set up similar to the current setting, but with credit requirement.

like 10 energy is a basic equivalent to 200 credits, each elevator should cost that much to go down in, and refill your ME tank. I consider the trading market for CE for crafting material because it is harder to get and dose require the use of real money.

Another way to resolve this is to bump the tanks up from its flat rate of 100, and increase the recharge rate to compensate its size.

But my preferred solution is if you had a dungeon and called it "PowerPlant" each elevator cost 200 CR's. and each level drops around a 3rd of your ME and with a chance of CE (small chance depending on Tier like 1 is a low chance, 2 is slightly higher, and 3 is a medium chance). It will still require the demand of the CE market, but people can still go about their way on dungeons. In both getting ME (with a slight chance of some CE) and then use the ME towards dungeons to get CR's. The point to this is to grind for credits to be able to get gears and craft items instead of being in a forever loop of crafting and buying Energy.

Just, -1.

Have you even tried the market? Why not just put the amt of crowns you would pay for 100 energy and put how much 100s are you gonna buy? Of course, assuming you have about 15~k to atleast purchase 200~ energy.

Energy is th only "limit" here. It's what OOOlives on. You buy energy, they get money. How are they supposed to make business if their game won't have something that can help them cover costs and pay their hardworking programmers, devs and etcetera etcetera.

If you invite at least four friends of yours with steam, you get [amt.] Mini Mistanks and a steam helmet.

Wait... am I bashing a suggestion?

EDIT: Read this if you haven't.

there is a difference between

there is a difference between the energy we buy, and the energy we get from tanks, OOO makes well more than enough money currently on the market of energy, and if they wanted to make more they can by targeting a bigger scope, instead of limiting dungeons with having to buy it with crowns, I rather do dungeons than stand in front of the biding board and waiting for my Mist to recharge.

With their current setup they are just Limiting themselves from a larger market, and group of gamers. If you have the game accessible to everyone all the time, most likely people would put money into that game and pay more for it in return. the Pay to Play games are dead, its time to move on.

Im not just complaining on my behalf though, Ive tried to invite like 7 friends, and so far, 5 of them have left, because they cannot stand the way the "Energy System" is.

you can "-1" me all you want really, but its clear that OOO had Limited them selves on this kind of setup.

Edit: Also if Three Rings wanted to get more creds, they would think on how the other MMO's make their creds instead of this current build, and limitations.
it all comes down to Competition...

And if you are worried about the "Lore" or the game, then why dont we just have a map based around the "Haven mines" off of your Wiki that you posted about Crystal Energy, and I quote! "The Strangers that run Haven mine areas of the Clockworks for the crystallized form. Like everything in their possession, it is available for sale."

Yes, the system is wrong, but yours wouldn't work either. Besides with all it's flaws, they seem to be ok with it and have been doing fine for 2 years.

Those metacritic reviews are actually terrible, and they should be redone but they never will because 1) nobody cares enough to review a two-year-old game and 2) metacritic never changes reviews. The guy from PC gamer (I have read that review before), by the sounds of it, played through his first mist tank and ragequit. That's not the way to review a game.

Missions that reward energy instead of crowns might be interesting, as long as it was balanced to the fluctuating CE/CR exchange rate. Which, I think, would be quite difficult to code. If you did it any other way it would ruin the CE market by setting a hard exchange rate.

Another thing you could do is reduce the elevator price in T1 to 5 energy, since it's not enough to justify farming infinitely (because the payout is so low) and it would give newbies a chance to get a little bit bigger taste of the game on their first tank o' mist.

This wouldn't work. We'd have to remove CE altogether and use crowns instead (you still get mist), which in itself is an odd idea.
