1. add Durability to equipment (at least for weapons) i posted it on another thread but i thought it would better to branch off from there. in addition to the generic: "the durability value decrease as the equipment is used, repair to reset the value" have the repairs needed to restore durability include materials of the same star level. the materials needed change in between repairs:

so a 4 star weapon requires 4 separate 4 star materials A,B,C,D and after repairs the materials change to D,F,J,Y and is immediately visible after the repairs

the reason for the change in materials between each repair is so people wont stockpile the needed materials and encourages going out and finding/buying the mats (if OOO feels the need not to include the changes in mats so be it)

2. there needs to be something more to do once you have exhausted all your energy. In essence, i have an extremely hard time keeping up with the ever increasing CE costs so i rarely get enough to go through 20 or more levels before i need to wait for more energy (if trying to get better equipment than not even 10 levels)

so basically OOO is saying "either use real world money to buy more energy or quit for a time." that's certainly one way to make people choose the latter...

as for what activities this would entail, that's hard to say... maybe some miscellaneous activities or mini games with mist energy rewards or maybe a point system and once you gain enough you can buy a mist tank. something that require no energy to do

i feel a lot more willing to spend money on energy if it's not required to continue.

1. No
2. Maybe

This is just my opinion, but durability adds an unnecessarily complicated aspect. There are easier ways to design a crown/material sink. On the latter topic, that is exactly what Three Rings is asking, pay up if you want more action. That said, it would be beneficial to give free players who really want to be online to have fun with friends while not dungeon crawling. Of course, any such option would have to provide minimal game advancement (if any). A PvP arena or pay-to-play (crowns) Boss-Rush Challenge would be well-suited to this.

if there are easier sinks

if there are easier sinks around then where are they?

again i said its a bad design its no better than dealers of narcotics....

fine some type of activities not yielding any sort of reward would work i just hate to end the day prematurely because of energy

I think durability is

I think durability is actually a great idea to both weapons and armor. I wouldn't add the material aspect though. Just make it pay crowns to restore to full capacity.

Each piece of gear has a certain durability until it breaks. (Costs more to fix when broken - also doesn't work as well when broken)
Weapons lose durability on # of hits, armor on damage taken.

Durability is designated by Star Power and LVL - higher of either increases durability, also obviously makes it more expensive to repair.

There you go, simple and easy crown sink. Not sure if many people will like the idea of having to spend extra crowns. But might be a necessary evil.

in Beta, PVP was the thing to

in Beta, PVP was the thing to do once you'd exhausted energy. Supposedly that's coming back in an improved form at some point.

Hope Restored

I came here to suggest just that. I thought PvP would be a great thing to do while waiting for mist energy.

Another option

Another option would be to have to potential for an Energy Crystal as a drop in the Clockworks. Not everybody's fav. solution, but if you get lucky you get and extended day. If Energy Crystals already drop in the Clockworks.........well then i'm not a lucky person! :)
But something to do free of energy charge sounds REALLY nice
