I have an extra Flourish around and I wanted to see how these weapons do.
Which one do you prefer, I am tethering towards Rigadoon, since I already have a Combuster for Fire infliction.

Rigadoon

Well, I prefer the Fearless Rigadoon. Most times when using flourish weapons you want to kill something quickly, so waiting for fire damage to help do the work takes too long. It is dead before fire does anything. When an enemy is stunned you have the extra time to do another combo.

agree

I have all four piercing swords. Obviously Final Flourish and Barbarous Thorn Blade are all about damage. Fearless Rigadoon gives up some damage for an interesting status, that can enhance the way you play, or at least entertain you. Furious Flamberge gives up some damage for...some damage? I don't see the point. So I vote for Rigadoon over Flamberge.

I was expecting to come and have to say 'Snarble Barb'

Rigadoon is fun when you do get the occasional lucky Stun.
Flamberge, I guess, would in theory be slightly safer than the Flourish (as in, damage then let them burn while turtling) in exchange for a little damage.

Really, personal choice, but Flamberge has a better proc chance.

Also, since when was the Rigadoon's proc chance only 1/16? It felt a lot lower than that when I owned one...

Flamberge has the minor benefit of killing Recon shields whilst in Lockdown. It's mildly amusing to watch them get set on fire, realise, and attempt to cloak only to have it break under the damage. Otherwise, I would say that Rigadoon is the more practical of the two status Flourishes... although its proc chance is depressingly low on paper. (I couldn't say whether it's lower than Flamberge in practice, though.)

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

I've always considered Flamberge as better for killing things which are resistant to pierce because the fire isn't resisted the same way as pierce. Normally I take a combination of weapons, such as a gun and a sword or a sword and a bomb. Because of this, I prefer to have at least one normal damage dealing weapon. With a Flamberge, I can kill a Lumber in reasonable time. (Lumbers are common in Wolver Dens) Another good thing is that if I catch something on fire, I can leave whatever I've been attacking and kill something else. When I get back to the burned enemy, it's been softened a good deal. :P

Also, when the RNG is in your favor, it's hilarious in LD.

so

So you've got a normal weapon and a fire/piercing sword, and you have to take out a lumber, and you choose the piercing sword? Why even bring the other weapon?

@Bopp

He's saying his flamberge acts as the normal-damage weapon.

Eh, I'd say they are on par with one another. Flamberg is a tremendous gamble for a minute amount of damage, and rigadoon isn't much better. I prefer rigadoon purely for the sound of BSHHONGGG that stun gives off.
