I remember a whiiiiile back that it was heavily hinted that we would be getting "normal"-color (Fancy, Military, Heavy, etc) versions of the costume sets we've been seeing alongside almost every major event. Had an idea for a way for these to happen, just thought I'd toss it out there.

Veloute is Bechamel's traveling business partner and appears at Bechamel's shop in the Haven Bazaar and Guild Halls. In these places, he sells color, eye, and height mods at their current prices (Vatel would no longer carry these items). As a side-note, I do hope that each of these sets get their item name changed slightly (Eye Modifier: Normal, Height Modifier: Normal, Color Modifier: Red) so that they group up better with default item sorting and can be searched for more easily in the AH.

Of more interest, he would also appear in the Clockwork Terminals at depths 4, 13, & 23 (potentially replacing Kozma). He would sell a random selection of costume armors/helmets with a wider selection at lower depths.
-At T1, he sells 4 random items, has no access to Prismatic, Divine, Volcanic, or Shadow items, and only sells costume versions of the five starter armors/helmets.
-At T2, he sells 7 random items, starts stocking Prismatic items (Prismatic items carry a higher price, though), loses the preference towards proto armors, and has slightly increased odds of stocking a paired set (like Fur Cap with Fur Coat of the same color).
-At T3, he sells 10 random items, can stock all colors (Prismatic, Divine, Volcanic, and Shadow have a higher price tag), and gains further preference towards at least one matching pair.

Suggested Price:
Common-color Proto: 5k crowns each
Common-color Other: 10k crowns
Prismatic, Divine, Volcanic, Shadow: 20k crowns

But I disagree with the prices. Take a look at some of the other costume items that can be gained solely through crowns:

Maskwell Permanent Hats: 100 Event Tokens = 100,000 crowns
Maskwell Random Reskin/Acessory: 25 Event Tokens = 25,000 crowns
Bombheads: 150 Krogmo Coins = 30,000 crowns (and a crapload of time)
Rose Regelia: 495,000 crowns.

Re: Price

A crownsink is a failure if it's so expensive that people can't buy it. Besides, I based my price suggestions on the going rate of the reskin costumes (I like that term, I'mma keep it) in the AH when they're new. Now, if Veloute sells stuff other thank reskin costumes, and these things can only be gotten from him, I'm all for charging more for them. But the barrier to entry here should be finding it via the random selection (thus giving people a reason to play the clockworks rather than grinding FSC all day), not the price.

@Likal

People WILL buy it. It's cosmetic. Anything cosmetic will have tonnes of buyers. Especially if it comes in all the different themes including prismatic, volcanic and Divine etc.

There are a lot of people who make certain 5 star armors for the sole purpose of using it as a costume, so pricing these reskins at 30-50k will not affect how much crowns they'll sink. It will just affect how many people are wearing the exact same version of these reskins around Haven to look cool, but just end up looking mainstream and making the place look bland.

Remember during Winterfest/Dark Harvest when everyone was wearing the Frosty/Hallow reskins? The place was filled with that colour. (Although there's nothing really wrong with that particular situation seeing as it was an event and was nice to see everyone in the event's colours)

but

But hex, these players are the ones who are Van spamming 24/7, you would be punshing everyone with larger amounts of van spamming just to get one and could potentionaly increase CE prices.

@Waffleconecake

If people are Vanaduke spamming (which they already was doing) to get enough crowns to buy the costumes, then that's less crowns that they're dumping into the energy market, no? Therefore, lower energy prices.
I don't understand why people think crownsinks work in any other way.
